I’ve been curious about the increased hostile atmosphere on this platform towards rail workers by some usual right wing media has-beens (e.g. Concrete Mike, Kelvin). Is it because they have an agenda against unions and easy targets like railways? Yes but there’s more… 1/

A positive note on here… The human race and the way we innovate and break boundaries never ceases to amaze me
Separated by only 30 years. Two true beauties

It’s mad high frequency bus routes like this aren’t converted into the Metrolink tram network
Changing colours doesn’t make buses more reliable as four buses arrive and depart Piccadilly together on route 192 just now.

This appeared on my feed. AI seems to be useful at reading and examining data then reproducing it. Pretty much replacing a lot of journalism and opinion pieces like this. No need for AI, we’ve had automatic trains since the Victoria Line was built long before AI Tom was born.
If we were serious about growth, we’d sack every tube and train driver in the country, replace the actual driving with AI, and hire in new people to be safety and ticket conductors on contacts from this century. This will obviously happen eventually, why are we putting it off?

..putting money into the has-beens or the “critical thinker” and driving up traffic to create ad revenue for President Musk. That’s why this website has been flooded with edgy posts. It creates money. Using the block feature helps to cut off engagement and monetisation /5

.. “your against free speech” - no I’m not. I’m against people pitting worker vs worker to fill their own pockets. I’m guilty of stupidly engaging in these debates. The major news sites probably won’t get blocked but these edgy has-beens and wannabe GBNews will. Any ideas? /end

No idea why this narrative keeps being peddled on here but I’ll keep it simple .. Train Drivers are NOT on strike, this would be ‘Train Managers’ who are in an operation role as a Guard/Conductor .. It was a below inflation pay increase, see my pinned post for details

I'm afraid a train being cancelled because the train operator employs too few train guards will never be solved with driverless trains, Bryan.
Replying to @RMTunion
Driverless trains can’t come soon enough.

It should be pedestrianised like hundreds of other city and town centre in the UK Buses divert around Deliver out of peak times Get rid of the tacky candy shops In the medium term.. London needs a tram network to replace some bus routes. Like other major cities.
Tens of thousands of people crammed into a quarter of the available space. The sooner Oxford Street is pedestrianised the better 👍

No wonder why the Tories disappeared into no man’s land. Apparently awarding a pay rise that’s below inflation to transport workers, is the cause of losing Latin lessons in schools. Despite not being taught in many schools for years before this….
This Government will give train drivers massive pay rises but won’t pay for children to learn Latin. They’re also pulling this funding mid-year, which is just cruel. Education vandalism once again.

There’s literally a massive red sign in that picture that says “due to overrunning engineering works” causing this disruption at Euston. But let’s make this a random moan about people not wishing to come into work *on their day off*……
The Unionised drivers are refusing to turn up. You ain't fixing that. Especially when you gave them a pay rise so big they no longer need overtime.

You’ve got yourself in a muddle You reply to a topic of the UK network which you have limited knowledge on Reply directly to a UK driver who asked you about safety systems and you pluck out answers of systems from the other side of the world Now you’re just learning about TPWS
I was asked to identify safety systems used on trains so I did. I identified three major systems used in different countries across the world.
