How to build a huge portfolio today
Straight from the Horse's mouth
I asked @mikemanndotcom this question 4 years ago.
If I thought it was too much work and too much investment, I would still be crying about Afternic landers not working today
I have been buying names from Auctions every single day, one at a time. Sometime I buy a name for say 2K, and I will quickly bulk scan if similar names are listed for less and I will snap them up if the price makes sense.
SOmetime i get inspired a 2 word combination and quickly scan what kind of price they sold for, or are currently listed for and there are similar names available to hand reg. Many times specially bulk of the names that are sold for 400-500 a pop, you will find very close adjacents for hand reg. But those are far and few in between
Here is how I buy
I buy as much as my cash flow allows and I optimize for maximum cashflow
I buy the best opportunity that are up in auction in timeframe. You need to quickly decide if paying 1000 for A is better than paying 700 for B
I don't buy names for specificity. I don't care if a kew word has raised funds. I look at the big picture and see fund rasing pattern in the industry and buy more names
instead of betting on one Horse by fighting with other degens
If BlueHorse raised funds, I will not fight to win blueHorse
Rather I would see the funding pattern of horse and buy green horse and brown horse for the price I would pay for Blue Horse
I would still bid on Blue widget though, for the culture.
It is a long road but this is the way
One at a time

TradingCards .com, which was listed for sale at @afternic, traded via @GoDaddy for 7 figures.
It is one of the largest two word .com domain name sales of all time, and it will rank in the top five publicly reported sales of 2026 on @NameBio and @DNJournal.
Details are here:

Why does it make sense for a bull to buy this for 6-7K but does not make sense for a regular domainer to pay so much for this name
Be as detailed as possible
Think about it hard
I like the way this guys been hustling buying and selling dot so names this past few weeks
This is how you take an opportunity by the horn and in the way learn the trade as well.
Good job bro.
Here is some free promo for you
Ps: I am not affiliated and I am doing this just once because I am impressed by his hustle.
K in place of C needs a strong ass tld like .ai
I have a bunch of these and they are hard to sell
The reason lie in the origin story of the use of K in place of C in the Deep South back in the day.
I checked the corresponding .si of my .ai portfolio
Most if them are priced at 10% of my .ai BIN
So, I picked up the available remaining .si where I own the .ai and priced them all at 1 Million +
:P
Now the .ai will look affordable
Sold another .ai today. 25K
Funny, I quickly went to secure the .si and it was registered 3 days ago by a brand protection company.
Smart move the company
I don't know how the negotiations went down and I didn't want to push the complainant for an explanation, but when I told him that you already made an offer of 6000 and I was willing to take it, he said, let us do 5K because he already spent some in UDRP filings and Lawyer fees. I said, Done!!!
Crazy world
