I slept in 🛌 this morning to celebrate my birthday 🎂 today. It’s been raining 🌧️ almost constantly since last week, and haven’t seen the sunrise 🌅 in a while. I slept past sunrise. But, the sun ☀️ was shining when I woke. That’s a nice 😊 birthday 🎁 present 💝 indeed. Thanks!

I’m 36 minutes away from the moment when I was born 61 years ago. The birthday 🎁 wish was a day without rain 🌧️, and a little bit of sunshine ☀️. The weather cooperated perfectly.

It’s the eyewall, y’all. Treat the eyewall like a tornado 🌪️. Everyone gets the smartphones out, and starts getting it documented, just like tornadoes 🌪️. 😝 Anyway, there goes my birthday 🎂 hurricane. 🌀 If I have any trouble blowing out the candles, I just hold it outside.
If you're in the pink, the eyewall of Isaias is about to reach you. Extreme Wind Warning until 8:45 PM Central from Pensacola and Navarre to Fort Walton Beach, Destin and Freeport. Treat it like a tornado: get to an interior room now and stay there.

Hurricane 🌀 Isaias, a category 3 hurricane currently, has a bunch of Mexican dust swirling around in it. So, it’s not likely to last long past the beach 🏝️ it lands on, which is currently forecast to be Pensacola Beach, but could be as far east as Fort Walton, due to wobbling…

My birthday 🎂 hurricane 🌀. Two years ago it was Milton. And, at least I’m not worried about the power outages, because the house 🏠 burned down when the power was restored after Milton. It burned the power pole, too. So, now it’s solar panels, batteries, and power inverters.
Here are the MAXIMUM WINDS to prepare for in association with Hurricane Isaias, which is expected to make landfall late Friday night or early Saturday. By then, it'll be a high-end Category 1 or borderline Category 2 hurricane. Hurricane-force winds sustained over 74 mph are likely at the coast, with some 85 to 95 mph gusts. This will be a risk for the outermost delta in Louisiana, locations near/east of Gulfport/Biloxi, Mobile Bay, Gulf Shores and parts of the Emerald Coast of Florida – especially Pensacola and Panama City Beach. Plan for power outages. Mobile proper, Crestview, Tallahassee and perhaps Andalusia, Alabama – expect gusts 60 to 75 mph. Scattered to numerous power outages can be expected. In the lighter pink, tropical storm-force winds (sustained or frequent gusts 39+ mph). A few gusts of 50-60 mph are possible. That will be enough to cause a few power outages and down some branches. Winds decay inland due to the weakening storm and increased friction. When they're blowing off the water at the beaches, there's nothing to slow them down. We may have to further ramp up this forecast as new data comes in.

Oh, I was born in Orlando. And, having seen so many tropical cyclones 🌀 in my lifetime, I know that it bears 🐻 watching the reports on it until it gets ashore somewhere. Gulf hurricanes are usually pretty badly forecasted, and can come ashore much stronger than forecast for.

Michigan Yoopers, Northern New Yorkers, Vermonters, New Hampshireites, and Mainers, are all having their peak leaf 🍁 changes of colors this week. Florida, has another month to wait for even just a smidgen of color, but it’s coming soon. Been raining 🌧️ all week here.
On my way to the heart doctor in Marquette, MI. Trees are changing colors and it's chilly. Definitely feels like fall. #906wx #KeweenawPeninsula

The last nice day around here was in September. The last barbecue 🍗 was on that day. It was one week of nice weather, and a total of three barbecues altogether. That’s about $10 of charcoal in that old grill. Well worth it, especially when the weather is nice. Rain 🌧️ go away!!!

This is the second year of the Fire 🔥 Horse 🐎 (Chinese leap year) that has plowed through my life. Anyone who is as old or older has been through it before too. The last time was 1966. I was still waiting to be grown up enough to go back to the doctor who birthed me for knife.

I was born cross eyed. Went under Doc Hoover’s knife 🔪 at 18 months old to get the problem fixed. I remember the ether mask 😷 being fitted to my head. The eye 👁️ patch didn’t come off until I was five, and the kids in school used to salute 🫡 and say “argh, matey!” to me, too.

11 minutes shaved off the day since the equinox, and it’s still stuck in rainy season mode here. The river’s flooded as much as would be normal in any hurricane 🌀 season, without any hurricanes at all. There’s been 6 inches of rain here in just the past 2 days. Still raining 🌧️.

There’s some color along the Minnesota coast along Lake Superior, also. The lake never went above 60 degrees Fahrenheit this year, and many parts of it was never higher than the low 50s Fahrenheit even in the height of the summer months. When the lake is colder it reflects more.
You can see fall from space right now. This is Michigan's Upper Peninsula from a satellite on Monday. All that orange is the trees. Imagery: NASA Terra MODIS

Rope is reusable, reliable, and easy. It’s cheaper than drugs or “old sparky” the electric chair 🪑, unless old sparky is hooked up to solar panels. Rope is WAY cheaper, and far less likely to FAIL than almost any other method. It’s also cleaner, and less messy than guillotines.

Well, here we go with special rules for the Wekiva, and Rock 🪨, spring basins. I’m in the Wekiva basin currently, but I’ve also lived in the Suwannee basin, and the Santa Fe basin, which are also spring basins. The Santa Fe, actually goes underground. apple.news/AUsKi85iuRzCDbBSt…

Happy Fall, Y’all. This was a brutal Summer, I’ll never forget that. Even without a hurricane 🌀

Beautiful day for a barbecue 🍗 around here. And, yes the love 💕 bugs 🐞 are swarming (and, the yellow jackets 🐝, too) because THEY LOVE ❤️ barbecue! 🍖 😂 And, I do too! So do the kitties 🐈‍⬛ and dogs 🐕, but they’re napping 😴 currently because they just had breakfast 🍳.

Bizarre mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 popping up around here after one of the wettest wet seasons ever seen in this neighborhood. They resemble huge rusty spikes, partially nailed into the ground. And, crumbling like a rusty spike would over years, in just days after popping up.

I used to dream of traveling 🧳 the planet playing my music 🎶… But then the world came here, and completely killed that desire. And, the world isn’t missing anything. Except for peace ✌️… And, that’s overrated too. Now, get busy blowing each other up! Have a nice 😊 day!
