Next time you are doing a design review, pause on the forms.
We often look over them to get to the "cool" features, but forms are where the work actually happens.
Check these 3 basics before continuing. 🧵
Great software is usually just boring stuff done well.

3. Validation: Does the validation happen when the user leaves the field, or only after they click the "Submit" button and fail?
2. Labels: Do the labels sound like a human conversation, or a database column name? Or... do they even have labels?
1. Optional vs mandatory: Are we marking 10 required fields, or just the 2 optional ones? (Do the latter).

Just noticed that every icon and blue piece of text in @X when creating a post fails standard colour contrast guidelines for their actions.
A horrible 3:1.
European Accessibility Act isn't complied to X?
Any UX designers there that can fix this?

Good example and reminder in this design to check your contrast!
Aim for a 4.5:1 for smaller text.
Large text is more flexible with a 3:1.
Or go to a web tool like WebAim, the old and trustworthy source! :D

Unsure about your contrast?
If you are using Figma they have a contrast checker built-in natively!
Just go to the color section and tick the circular icon:

Justin Bieber now understands UI / UX fundamentals better than Apple
It's been a weird year
If I hit this dictation button after sending a text and it beeps and stops my music one more time,
I’m gonna find everyone at apple and put them in a rear naked choke hold
Even if I turn off dictation I somehow hit the voice note thing
The send button should not have multiple functions in the same spot
What’s the Gemini hype all about, and why do we all dislike ChatGPT now?
I just renewed my subscription 🥲

UX design patterns.
Something I work with everyday.
But within our industry, not a lot are talking about it.
And if they do, chances are it’s about marketing pages.
I just positioned my newsletter to UX Design Patterns.
For product people, software, data tables and complex problems.
Stay tuned for more.
PS: what are patterns you would like to see?
