The greatest judgment God can send to disobedient people is to let them have their own way and reap the sad, painful consequences of their sins. -- Warren Wiersbe

This clown graduated from the Kamala Harris School of Word Salad. He’s just better at it. He wants people to have to dig through the slop to figure out what he’s really saying. It’s there though. Harris says nothing when she talks. Buyer beware.
.@AbdulElSayed says it’s ok for MEN to be in girl’s locker rooms. Why? “Well because they are going to find out about it on the internet anyway” Completely unacceptable.

Indiana is one hot mess today. QB issues, injuries, special teams whiffing every time. Just a mess.

I sure hope the @Reds are taking notes on how Milwaukee has built a championship caliber team. They’re small market too. I’m probably wishing for too much though.

Feeling a migraine coming on. Don’t get them much these days but they still pop up from time to time. Used to get them all the time.

Nice day for a drive with my better half. The picture doesn’t do justice to the actual view from atop this hill. Starting to get a little fall color in southern Indiana. Probably be pretty muted when colors do show because it’s been so dry this late summer/fall.

Hot Friday evening date with my better half. Went to Rural King so I could buy some $11.99 jeans. They used to be $10/pair. Still a good bargain but I’m told they won’t replace them for free anymore if you rip them. Bummer.

If you want tangible proof that the government meddles too much, I’ll give you a good example. Go buy a gas can for your lawn mower. Had to buy a new one today, I’ll be doctoring it up tomorrow to make it work right.

I hold this position, that in a country of 350 million people there is absolutely zero chance the United States is 50/50 politically. You can’t cook up odds that good. It just doesn’t math. Oh, wait… that’s how they do it. They cook the books.

Going to need to see my heart doc after this Indiana game.

Heading off to the airport in about an hour to get my better half. She’s been gone all week in work meetings in Connecticut. Not a moment too soon, I just about ate all the food she fixed for me before she left! 😂

Hot take — there never was going to be a publicly viewed execution to begin with. It was all talk but was never going to happen. Folks still don’t get that one of Trump’s major skills is trolling those who hate him. They fall for it every time. Not justifying it. Just my take.

See my cardiologist for a 6 mo. follow up yesterday. Prior to my heart attack in 2024, I had been on as many as 8 BP meds at one time with zero control. Post- heart attack my heart doc took over my meds. Yesterday, BP was 122/80. All on 3 meds. 👊🏻 1/2

My family doc had stubbornly managed my meds before. While in the hospital recovering I asked my heart doc if he’d review them. Time for a clean slate. Started all over again on better meds. Daylight and dark difference. So thankful for him.

Wise words a godly mentor shared with me years ago... In life and ministry: 1. Not every comment needs a response. 2. Not every criticism requires a defense. 3. Not every controversy deserves your attention. This is so true...I have to remind myself of these 3 things regularly. Sometimes the wisest, most Christlike and fruitful response is to remain silent and move on. There is great wisdom in knowing when to speak, when to listen, and when to lovingly walk away. Paul said it best... “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.” — 2 Timothy 2:23

FedEx can’t get anything right. 2 day delivery shipped on 6th, still haven’t gotten it. Then tracking says “James” is on his way then changed to “John”. I hold little hope of getting it today either. Can’t even talk to a live human to find out what the deal is.

The Bible gives many ways of appropriating the person and work of Jesus Christ proclaimed in the gospel. There are the facts of the gospel, i.e., Jesus' person and work. And then there is the need to appropriate or receive the benefits of Jesus' person and work. The Word of God uses various phrases, all of which boil down to repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ. 1. You must repent. 2. You must believe. 3. You must repent and believe. 4. You must receive Jesus. 5. You must turn to or look to Jesus Christ. 6. You must seek or come to Jesus. 7. You must call upon the name of the Lord. 8. You must confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead. 9. You must flee from the wrath to come. 10. You must count the cost. Please note what isn’t mentioned: 1. Going forward at the altar call. 2. Raise your hand. 3. Signing a prayer card. 4. Go to the anxious bench. 5. Praying the sinner’s prayer. 6. Asking Jesus into your heart. 7. Making a decision for Christ. 8. Receiving the love of God. 9. Getting baptized. 10. Partaking of certain sacraments. 11. Joining a specific local church or denomination. 12. Holding to a certain doctrinal statement or creed. 13. Sitting under a specific preacher. 14. Cleaning up your life and being a good person. 15. Making sure your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds. 16. Trying not to murder anyone or rob a bank. Beware of false and/or extra-biblical ways of appropriating the gospel. J. C. Ryle said, “Then learn the enormous folly of joining anything with Christ in the matter of salvation. There are multitudes of baptized men and women who profess to honor Christ, but in reality, do Him great dishonor. They give Christ a certain place in their system of religion, but not the place which God intended Him to fill. Christ alone is not “all in all” to their souls.—No! It is either Christ and the Church,—or Christ and the sacraments,—or Christ and His ordained ministers,—or Christ and their own repentance,—or Christ and their own goodness,—or Christ and their own prayers,—or Christ and their own sincerity and charity, on which they practically rest their souls.”

Your assurance was never supposed to rest on a decision you once made. It rests on a Person who once died and is still alive. If your comfort is fading, stop examining the moment you prayed and start looking at Jesus again.
