So I couldn't wait! Phone edit for now. A brilliant day at Budleigh. Snow buntings are the cutest. #olympus #om1 #wildlifephotographer #devonphotographer #devon #devonbirds #omsolutions #birdphotography – at Budleigh Salterton, England

Imagine being pinned by a snake with a pride of lions watching, only to stand up and square off against the whole lot of them. Absolute main character energy from this eagle.
Evening adventures.... and an Ortolan bunting! So many brambles, and I had to buy happy meals, worth it! Lifer. 216 for Devon.... Rubbish phone edits, it was tiny and long way away.

Check yer kitchens folks! And as my mate @BirdingGardener advises - especially behind the crockery. Served up in Merstham today, apparently
Now that was a late twitch, and about as far as I like to go! Seaton Wetlands after a disastrous T20 match in Community League for my Sir Walt pub team.
215 for Devon, red-necked phalarope. Bosh. Cheers @ColytonWildlife for the pointer!

A renegade polymath with binoculars and a beard , Bill was invariably funny and occasionally furious . He loved birds and loathed those who harmed them . He was delightfully unpredictable , sparky , smart and at times a bit spiky . Critically he really knew his stuff , and his passion was true - he didn’t just pick up his binoculars on telly , he went birding whenever he could . So he was genuine and that’s why we loved him , he never needed a script , and took scant interest in any he was given . He didn’t like rules and often neglected to play by them . This may have frustrated the serious and the worthy but it always amused his audience - he was an utter joy to be with . I recall finding a Black Woodpecker in a damp Dutch park with him once , he gazed at it intently , sighed , put down his bins , turned to me and just smiled . A massive grin . No words , just a beautiful childlike bliss . That says all you need to know about Bill Oddie .
Sadly we’ve not only lost a goodie , we’ve lost one of the besties .

WHAT HAVE WE JUST SEEN?! 🤯
Somerset were 82-8 needing 80 off 33 balls for an unlikely place in T20 Blast Finals Day...
And then Craig Overton smashed 79* (30) from No.9 to script a barely believable comeback, chasing Yorkshire's 161 with one ball to spare 🔥
An innings for the ages 👏

Has there every been a duller, more devoid of personality and excitement Giro leader? Awful race to watch too, no competition. Yawn. Even Cadel had better victory salutes! #giroditalia #jonasyawnaguad #giro #vismapharma
So Devon lifers are back up and running, self found little gulls off Exmouth seafront today. Two adult birds, this one snuck in close and I missed a good shot! Grrr.
Serious conditions out there. Epic seeing some other regular species in the rough stuff! #birding #stormingrid
Had a birdwatching buddy today as I dipped the bittern at my local reserve. Devon list stays unmoved in 2026! @markrabailey Bonus doggo cuddles
