Back to the Future gives us three memorable numbers:
88 mph.
1:21 am.
1.21 gigawatts.
On 26 October 1985, Einstein travels one minute forward—from 1:20 am to 1:21 am.
88 mph is the speed.
1.21 gigawatts is the power.
1:21 am is the return time.
Different units, connected by the film.
Now look at the calendar.
26 OCTOBER 1985 — GREGORIAN
13 OCTOBER 1985 — JULIAN
For that date, the Gregorian calendar is 13 days ahead.
26 − 13 = 13.
Split the year’s digits:
1 + 9 = 10.
8 + 5 = 13.
Read those results in month/day order:
10/13 → OCTOBER 13.
The calendar conversion is exact. The digit grouping is my chosen wordplay.
