Anduril Industries received an $85 million contract from the U.S. Department of War for aerospace systems design research under the VOLARE program, formally known as Mission-Oriented Integrated Design Methods at the Digital System Level for Aerospace Systems. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract will support research into vehicle systems design products and thermal management systems design methods. The work will be performed in Dayton, Ohio, with a scheduled completion date of Sept. 17, 2036. The Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base awarded the contract after a competitive process that attracted eight bids. The initial task order received $50,000 in incremental FY2026 research and development funding, while no funds were obligated under the base contract itself at the time of the award. The contract is identified as FA2391-26-D-B013, with the first task order designated FA2391-26-F-B020.
