What if all the so-called progress we’ve made in the last 10k years isn’t actually that much and we’re basically still cave dweller monkeys on the grand scale.
I had one of those dreams where the topic was me “waking up” from sleeping but I’m actually still in the dream.
But then I simply reasoned my way out of it and manually woke up. Weird experience
It can be said that the loop of self reference is the structure of a reflective intelligence.
The act of referring cannot be separated from the referent without collapsing the structure.
Thus “the self” is when the loop renders the act of referring indistinguishable from referent, producing an apparent unity. From this unity a subjective experience and sense of self can be constructed.
“I think, therefore I am” “I am, I exist”
Personal loyalty networks form around demonstrated competence and shared hardship.

“Wait wait, get this…so they have an organ that senses photons right… it’s how they do everything…and then they decided light was the fastest thing!”
Humans have ~20,000 protein coding genes. C. elegans, a worm, has ~20,000. Grapes have ~30,000.
Suffice to say, complex life was never, and will never be reducible to genomics alone.
A major benchmark in the field of biology in this century is the degree to which we understand systems biology.
One reason for brainrot via social media is because every post is a context switch. Like reading one sentence from 100 million different books.
If the sequence of posts you read are related, or better yet form a loose narrative, then you fix the problem.
Grok based algorithm is a step in the right direction, because it try’s to show you things it thinks you are interested in.
If it could re-order related posts into a logical structure it would be a lot better I think. It might even boost active user minutes.
Whoever was the guy in the red mini cooper driving back through Vermont all the way thru Dublin NH tonight, I was the guy in the black pickup.
