Working on performance improvements for @eMediciAU's Laravel backend. Apart from some query optimisation, major bottlenecks were:
- Lots of inefficient Gate checks → implemented a caching layer
- Hydrating way too many Eloquent models → use toBase() instead
ALT A table with columns "operation", "before (ms)", "after (ms)", and "improvement %". A couple dozen rows show different parts of the app and vast improvements in before/after times.
