🥀 3 Months of Burnham - 3 Months of Failure • Made clear he is not serious about defence, saying funding our Armed Forces cannot come at the expense of welfare. • Failed to approve Jackdaw and Rosebank, leaving Britain more exposed on energy security while chasing votes in a by-election. • Borrowed record amounts, piling even more pressure onto the economy. • Kept pushing the Chagos surrender deal, giving away British territory and making taxpayers foot the bill. • Allowed more than 6,000 illegal migrants into the UK. • Failed to explain how he would bring the welfare bill down. • Spent more than £1 million of taxpayers’ money on a TikTok squad. • Appointed a Cabinet with barely any real business experience. • Tried to win taxpayers back with a 12p-a-day tax cut after Labour hit them with £60 billion in tax rises. Can you believe it’s only been three months? And the worst is still to come.

“Has there been #genocide in #Gaza?” @NickFerrariLBC asked Prime Minister Andy Burnham and me. Yes. We must stop debating terminology. It cannot become a delay tactic when we have a legal and moral duty to stop the ongoing genocide we failed to prevent. More than 80 years of ethnic cleansing and erasure of the Palestinian people demand action. It is long overdue. Link to full interview on @LBC this morning: youtu.be/zyi37u1ZIiY?is=FbFc…

‼️ “I’m Not Going To Promise We Will Stop The Boats.” Andy Burnham just admitted it. There it is. A clear admission they’re not up to the job of stopping the illegal invasion of this country. That’s the Prime Minister telling the country he cannot, and will not commit to, stopping the small boat crossings. He says “we don’t want to see any crossings.” Fine. That’s the easy line. Then he gives the game away: “I’m not going to give you a date by which we can do that or a promise that we will do it in terms of a particular deadline.” No target. No timeline. No urgency. No plan that actually ends it. Lip service first, then surrender. That’s the message sent to the country and to anyone still considering the crossing. At least he’s honest about it.

Technical analysis to explain why the UK government is using the word "comprehensive". TL;DR: "Comprehensive" means identity verification for everyone so children can be banned. When adults are banned they can’t return. Identity verification is designed to kill online anonymity. When accounts are tied to real people, behaviour can be tracked, scored, predicted, and permanently restricted. Apply that across social media, games, messaging and app stores and you’ve built population-scale surveillance under the banner of child safety. Privacy is destroyed. Parents lose control. The government gains the power to exclude identified people from civic online spaces. Here’s my breakdown of Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy’s speech along with my technical analysis: 🇬🇧 "We will be the first in the world to introduce a comprehensive social media ban for children". 💡 Everyone knows the UK is not the first to introduce a social media ban for children. So what does she mean? 💡 For that statement to become true, the government would need to mandate something that hasn't yet been said out loud in Australia. A "comprehensive" social media ban means everyone has to verify their identity. 💡 She’s effectively saying "We will be the first in the world to introduce identity verification for everyone". There’s no other technical or legal explanation. 🇬🇧 "where abusive content is not just removed, but removed forever". 💡 The only way to achieve that is to ban repeat offenders permanently. That requires knowing who wrote or shared the content. Technically, that means linking people’s identities to what they post and share. Once an account is tied to a real identity, creating a new account with a different email address no longer works. If you’re banned, you’re excluded for good. 🇬🇧 "Women’s rights are human rights, and human rights are non-negotiable". 💡 I agree. But the government wants to use that as a trojan horse to take away everyone’s right to privacy, including women who wish to remain anonymous. Privacy is a human right, which by their own admission is non-negotiable. They want to decide when human rights are accessible. 🇬🇧 "But, friends, shouldn’t we be ashamed that decades of violent indifference has come to this? Having to remove our children from social media altogether because we cannot protect them from harm". 💡 Any parent who believes their child is unsafe on social media can restrict social media using the parental controls built into today’s smartphones. 🇬🇧 "Because our online spaces live in the palm of our hands and the cables that run under our feet. They’re a civic space, like any town hall or high street". 💡 The UK government arrests around 30 people every day over communications offences involving things posted online. If the government gains the ability to permanently exclude identified people from online services, people will censor themselves. (In Australia, Ireland and the US, they use "robust" age assurance to mean identity verification because no government wants to say what they really mean.) 💡 Please know this. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and the rest of the government and their advisors, are not technically savvy enough to understand basic technical aspects of this subject. I advised the British government and its main child-safety advisers during the first Parliamentary Inquiry into Online Child Protection in 2012. That process led to opt-out filtering across UK telecom networks and ISPs. They’ve been looking for ways to force identity verification for years. I know because I challenged them about it directly during formal in-person meetings and private briefings in London. My BBC Newsnight interview at the time showed me demonstrating how poor parental controls were. Unfortunately, we didn’t discuss what I thought of the government’s approach to default-on pornography filters, which meant adults had to actively remove restrictions to access blocked content. 💡 Smartphones today give parents the technical controls governments claim they need legislation to provide. Parents can block apps, block websites, restrict content, approve downloads, control purchases, and set time limits and curfews for their own children. They’re a hundred times better than they were in 2012. 💡 That removes the child safety justification for banning social media. 💡 A digital identity system kills online anonymity. Removing anonymity is a core technical requirement for governments to gain digital surveillance because once identity is linked to activity, behaviour can be monitored, analysed, predicted, and controlled. If the UK government rolls this out across social media, games, messaging, app stores and other online services, it creates the technical foundation for population-scale surveillance and control. Countless schools and many parents already use mobile based parental controls. Banning social media for everyone’s children takes rights away from guardians and parents. If I was on Newsnight today, I wouldn’t demonstrate weak parental controls like I did in 2012. I’d demonstrate how good they are now and ask why the government feels the need to ban social media instead of educating parents about the controls they already have. --- I’ll publish my full technical analysis of Chat Control today. Writing this here to hold myself accountable. I’ll summarise it here, but Substack gives me the space to break down the entire system properly. Plain English. No jargon. Free.

The Government has shown its hand. Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Lisa Nandy has warned that the Government’s online safety crackdown is far from over, describing the social media ban for under-16s as only a “staging post”. She has vowed to go further, saying: “We shouldn’t accept that this is the end.” And it gets worse. Ahead of her conference speech, Nandy said the social media ban is “a staging post to what must be a very interventionist state, policing and regulating the online space so that people are safe”. Nandy has just said the quiet part out loud. The state is already far too interventionist, flagging people who criticise the Government and its policies online. In the last five years, 62,199 people have been arrested for things they have said, both online and offline. Let’s be honest: this is no longer solely about protecting children online. It is about the state gaining greater control over what people say online. Nandy praised former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and former Digital Secretary Liz Kendall for introducing the social media ban earlier this summer. She also acknowledged a “step change” in the Government’s approach since Andy Burnham took over in July. Nandy has confirmed what we already knew: Andy Burnham’s Government will go further with online censorship. Read more below 👇

Andrew Neil just delivered a BRUTAL reality check to Andy Burnham after that highly praised conference speech. The praise has been wildly over the top. Some commentators parked their critical thinking because it suited their biases. Thankfully, as usual, Andrew Neil is not one of them. On the latest @TheNeilReport, he pointed out what Burnham left out of all those lavish plans. The glaring omission: tax rises are coming. As Neil put it: “It’s quite the socialist manifesto.” Higher taxes are inevitable. “In place of markets, privatisation, competition, Mr Burnham wants more state ownership, more state control, much bigger government and higher taxes. Of course he didn’t say higher taxes. Well, he wouldn’t, would he? But if you’re going to have bigger government and more state control and ownership, then there will have to be higher taxes. One follows the other.” Prepare yourselves. He’s coming for your money to fund his socialist utopia. Neil also noted that all the big-ticket items were for later. Next parliament. Next manifesto. Almost nothing for the here and now. Nothing serious on defence or foreign policy. “He glossed over. Barely gave it the time of day.” Nothing on the imminent “tough” winter or the fuel crisis. Rising inflation. Rising interest rates. Rising youth unemployment. Rising costs of government borrowing. Nothing. He finished with this warning: “Mr Burnham deserves his day in the sun. He should enjoy it, because it’s all about to get much darker, much more difficult. Reality is about to strike this winter. His 10-year plan is likely to be unravelling before spring has sprung.” Puts a slightly different spin on things, doesn’t it 😂

🚨They aren’t even hiding the control of our speech anymore! Lisa Nandy says restrictions for 16-17 year olds is merely a “staging post” towards… “A very active interventionist state, policing and regulating the online space.” (Her words) Now she wants a “public service algorithm”. Meaning interventionist state policing, regulating and nudging what information and speech is allowed! They are actually telling you what’s coming! 🚨

Labour has abandoned Starmer's ultra zionism in favour of soft zionism. It still slaughters and dispossesses Palestinians, but apologises occasionally.

🚨 LISA NANDY CONFIRMS 12 MILLION BRITONS WILL BE BANNED FROM SOCIAL MEDIA IN MARCH! Look at the face in this photo because she is preparing to strip basic digital freedoms from twelve million young people. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy just confirmed at the Labour conference that a full state prohibition takes effect in March, blocking under 16s from X, YouTube, Instagram, and Reddit. Nandy celebrated this mass censorship as an amazing force for good, openly boasting that she is determined to change the rights of children forever. Let me expose what this authoritarian scheme is actually designed to achieve. To police this ban, Whitehall will eventually demand facial biometric scans and government digital ID from every adult who wants to log onto the internet. This drops at the exact same time Burnham is setting up a state information defence centre, which Nigel Farage accurately branded George Orwell's Ministry of Truth! Why is nobody in the mainstream media sounding the alarm about twelve million citizens being locked out of the modern public square? The BBC and state broadcasters are quietly clapping along while Westminster politicians build a digital cage around our everyday lives. Retweet this immediately to expose Lisa Nandy and resist this terrifying assault on our fundamental freedoms.

Spent the day documenting one petrol station. No boat crossings this afternoon because of the weather, and to be honest I needed some sleep, so I stayed put and watched. What I saw over the next four hours was eye-opening. Around 10 to 15 men sat there for most of the day, relaxed, chatting and waiting. Then a suitable lorry appeared. Soft-sided curtain lorries were the target. Phones came out. Men further up the road appeared to be acting as spotters, warning the group when vehicles were approaching. They even moved an obstacle into the turning area, forcing lorries to swing wider and slow down enough for men to run alongside and attempt to climb onboard. When two got away on a lorry, two more seemed to replace them. Over roughly FOUR HOURS I watched approximately TEN men leave on lorries from this single location. One petrol station. One afternoon. Around ten men. And this was just what I personally witnessed. People talk about this issue in numbers and statistics. Spend four hours actually watching how it works on the ground and it looks very different. Video to follow once I’ve eaten.

Workers Party Statement By Deputy Leader Hon Peter Ford THE FAIRFORD FIASCO The incident outside the US base wasn't a national emergency. It was a national bloody dusgrace, that has made the country a laughing stock. The police statement virtually admits it's all been a terrible mistake. Going forward, the public is encouraged to report any signs of "small scale criminal activity", because you never know.... The Fairford Five have been released. without charge. To cover the authorities' blushes they are on bail under (no doubt indefinite) investigation. So either these lads were fly-tippers or similar or catspaws in a hoax. Neither explanation puts the government in a good light. They will have to find better reasons to keep ramping up war fever. Since no one else will take national security seriously the Workers Party takes ir upon itself to call for an independent public enquiry into the massive failures of intelligence (in every sense) involved in the Fairford fiasco. It is no minor matter to alarm the whole country unnecessarily. It is not okay to turf frantic local residents out of their homes. It is not responsible statesmanship to hint without evidence at terrorism by Iran and Russia. It is not acceptable to cause the President of the United States to look like an ever bigger fool than he usually does. Other fools in the British government used the pretext of the "terror" incident to call for higher spending on intelligence and security. An enquiry needs to consider whether the security agencies do not have too much funding already, and whether their Stasi-like behaviour needs to be curbed rather than amplified, bearing in mind earlier egregious cases of misuse of counter-terrorism powers, including the detention of the Leader of the Workers Party, George Galloway, at Gatwick in September 2025. The enquiry needs to examine in particular the role in the fiasco of the Home Secretary , Shabana Mahmoud, who must take responsibility for creating a police culture in which, based on the Fairford evidence, the police must be using the Keystone Cops films and Benny Hill videos for training purposes. Andy Burnham used his first speech at the UN to unveil the creation of a new ‘National Centre for Information Defence’ — aka Labour’s ‘Ministry of Truth’. The Prime Minister said that it was intended to protect us from information warfare by Russia. But he quickly added that he hoped it would preserve community cohesion and counter narratives about British decline that are contributing to social unrest. Burnham has made it blatantly obvious what this new government body is really about: tackling dissenting voices, those who wish to speak about mainstream issues affecting the country — such as the scale of mass uncontrolled immigration — and those who criticise the Government’s handling of the situation. The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee and veteran Labour MP, Emily Thornberry, praised the move as ‘long overdue’. But what she neglected to mention is that at least nine other similar Orwellian agencies are already operating in Whitehall, with at least half focusing on monitoring and flagging those who post critical or counter-narrative content on social media. This new centre is just the latest tool added to Labour’s ever-expanding ecosystem of censorship and domestic surveillance. The General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, Lord Young, has said that the Government is acting like a colonial power, regarding Britons as the occupants of a foreign country who need to be monitored to nip any potential rebellions in the bud. We already know that more than 62,000 people have been arrested for speech-related offences over the past five years. That’s an average of 34 people a day. If you are worried that one of these Orwellian agencies in Whitehall might come after you for something you have said online, join the Free Speech Union. The level of censorship in Britain today is far worse than we could ever have imagined. Watch Lord Young and join the FSU today 👇

🚨 BREAKING: COBRA MET. TRUMP SAYS HE KNOWS MORE. FIVE FAIRFORD TERROR SUSPECTS STILL BAILED. The government has now confirmed that releasing the five men arrested near RAF Fairford was an “operational decision” taken by police. That statement came after a COBRA meeting on the incident. At the same time, President Trump says he is surprised they were released and has indicated he knows more about the suspected foreign connection than he is prepared to reveal publicly. And Defence Secretary Wes Streeting says the member of the public who raised the alarm only has a “partial picture.” So what is the full picture? What intelligence exists? Who has it? Was it shared between the UK and US? What was discovered in the vehicles? And why, after arrests on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act, were all five suspects considered suitable for release on bail? This is now bigger than the original incident. It is about whether the public is being given the full story. Someone needs to explain what happened — and why these men are back out.
