Bipartisan permitting reform is a rare chance to build the power plants and transmission lines America needs.
PPI’s Neel Brown warns that rejecting this deal for a better one later could repeat Democrats’ 1974 mistake on health care policy and stall reform for decades. radicallypragmatic.org/p/wil…
Why the fuck would you advertise that your AI tool is where all the slop restaurant menus are coming from lmao who is in charge of marketing at OpenAI???
You can just have Claude research every happy hour in dc and build you a tool for checking which bars have the best deals at a certain time of day btw.
I need someone at anthropic to sponsor my Claude addiction. It’s only Monday and I’m already at 25% usage on my Max plan 😔

The Dispatch doesn't endorse candidates routinely, but it does when one candidate is distinctly the better choice for an important office.
This Senate race is one of those cases.

Good, AVs are essential to making DC streets safer, let's legalize them!

UPDATE: Allen tells me he still plans on moving the Waymo bill forward.
"Part of what we have built in is the strongest worker protections in any bill you have seen around the country," he tells me.
The prize that was created entirely to boost the ego of one man is being scrapped after a single year?

DC has lost 34 people to traffic violence this year, up 62% from this point last year, while independent research found 81% fewer injury crashes per mile for Waymo than human drivers in four cities studied. Alongside safer streets and stronger enforcement against speeding, that evidence deserves a carefully regulated rollout. I share the concern for drivers’ livelihoods, but protecting workers and improving safety shouldn’t require choosing one over the other. Singapore now helps drivers move into bus driving and autonomous vehicle jobs by subsidizing their salaries, and DC’s proposed bill already funds training for affected drivers: let’s strengthen those protections and move forward.

DC must be a leader in welcoming new technology while supporting workers and prioritizing safety.
Let's get this right and not rush Waymo legislation this year.
I am facing a crisis of irresponsible drivers who continue to try to run me over at pedestrian crossings because they refuse to follow traffic laws. Either start putting those drivers in jail, or legalize autonomous vehicles so pedestrians can feel safer on their way to work 🤷♂️

Introducing SHILL-Bench: the Standardized Holistic Index of Liberal Literacy
Every lab has a benchmark on how smart their models are in solving technical challenges, but until now no one has asked: just how globe-pilled are our new AI overlords?
Kind of crazy that anthropic advanced so fast that I’ve gone from using fable for most of my work in August, to using sonnet for most basic software projects, with opus as the advisor and haiku for subagents. Using sonnet/haiku in August would’ve been unthinkable for this stuff
