UZH maintains close ties with the World Health Organization. In a speech at UZH last week, the WHO’s chief scientist Sir Jeremy Farrar made an appeal for more social cohesion. For Farrar, universities have an important role to play here: news.uzh.ch/en/articles/news…

Hivemind: I’m looking to hire someone to design conceptual figures for a paper. Familiarity with decision-making or motivation a plus, as I'm hoping to get input for conceptualizing rather than only design. Great (paid) opportunity for a trainee, but any suggestions welcome! 🖌️
Publication alert 📢 for a new paper in which we replicate and extend some of our previous findings 👇
Feeling drained? Let's talk about fatigue and motivation.
Our paper is now published @CognitionJourn w/ @AndreaPisauro @MKJurgelis @tm_brainscience @ElianaVassena @trevor_chong @brain_apps. A worldwide collab studying an intimate sensation

I had a nice conversation about fatigue and motivation and some of our recent research with @Brain_Facts_org; parts of this conversation resulted in this article for their Ask an Expert series:

Excited that my first preprint is now available online @PsyArXiv, featuring another project from my PhD @OxExpPsy, with @MasudHusain and @brain_apps!🎉 "Preferences for seeking effort or reward information bias the willingness to work" psyarxiv.com/8p4dc/. Mini thread below.
These results highlight that how people prioritise seeking information about effort and reward, and individual differences in such preferences, may be intrinsically tied to their motivation, impacting levels of daily activity.
