Thanks @LAGovJeffLandry for putting this incredible leader back on our Board and back in the Chair role!
We are excited to announce that our own Board of Supervisors Chair Tim Hardy has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT)! 🎉 ✨ Elected this week during the ACCT Leadership Congress in Seattle, Chair Hardy’s understanding of and commitment to community colleges will undoubtedly impact this vital organization (@CCTrustees), which represents over 6,500 trustees from more than 500 governing boards dedicated to serving the 10+ million students enrolled in community and technical colleges across America. Congratulations, Chair Hardy! #ACCT2024

Baton Rouge Community College proudly announces that our Chancellor, @DrWillieESmith1, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) @Comm_College! Starting his three-year term on July 1, 2024, Dr. Smith will represent BRCC and Louisiana’s community colleges on a national level, advocating for the advancement of community and technical colleges across the United States. Dr. Smith will serve as one of 32 directors on the board, which represents more than 1,000 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions and nearly 12 million students. “I am deeply honored to have been elected by my peers to serve on the AACC Board of Directors,” said Smith. “This role is a unique opportunity to support the overall community college mission and advocate for transformative policies that enhance the educational framework for community and technical colleges nationally, as well as in Louisiana. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to push forward initiatives that strengthen our colleges' capabilities to serve our communities effectively.” We are #BRCCProud of him!
