ARIA (Amyloid-Related Imaging Abnormalities) refers to brain changes seen on MRI scans in Alzheimer's patients receiving anti-amyloid antibody therapies, such as Leqembi, that manifest as temporary swelling (ARIA-E) or microbleeds (ARIA-H). It requires monitoring due to the risk of severe symptoms such as confusion, headache, or vision issues, and may necessitate pausing treatment.
