Good evening friends and new friends! As promised this is your 6pm LA Wildfire update. It’s a long read so please bear with me and help to share this out! We are monitoring a number of fires tonight including the #PalisadesFire, #EatonFire, the #HurstFire, the #SunsetFire and the #LidiaFire The #PalisadesFire is last reported at 15,832 acres with 0% containment. The fire has destroyed thousands of homes up to Malibu and is making a push into Malibu and Santa Monica. It’s estimated that as much as 75% of the Pacific Palisades neighborhood has been destroyed. Estimates of over 1000+ structures has been damaged/destroyed Fire aircraft are finally flying again, and drops will continue as conditions permit. There are also 2 deaths associated with this blaze. The #EatonFire was last estimated at 10,600 acres, although there has not been an official map created yet, with 0% containment. It has impacted a large portion of Pasadena and Altadena, with a large portion of the latter being destroyed. Fire officials believe upwards of 500 buildings have been destroyed including Miles down the hill into neighborhoods. There are numerous neighborhoods actively burning at this time and multiple aerial resources are being used. There are also 5 deaths associated with this blaze. The #HurstFire was last estimated at 700 acres. Structure damage has been minimal and fire officials seem to have a good grip on the blaze however we are still at 0% containment. There is a NEW FIRE near the Hollywood Sign, burning in Runyon Canyon is already 10 acres with a Moderate ROS. Immediate structure threat. This is going to be the #SunsetFire The #LidiaFire was last mapped at 348 acres and is 30% contained. A potential huge blaze that got under control quickly. I wanted to give shoutouts to other scanner accts who without their information this update would not be possible for me to create.
