Nearly all our tech is in AWS, and our multidisciplinary software product teams work with #Rails, #React, #Docker, and #Kubernetes with modern CI/CD workflows. On the Core IT side, we’re full speed ahead on the zero trust train, as we described recently: wearecitizensadvice.org.uk/l…
Congrats to the Infrastructure Team @CitizensAdvice on such a big step toward modernising our technology infrastructure, improving security, and reducing costs! #ZeroTrust

Just once I want to see a hacker in a movie not be able to run their exploit code because their machine has the wrong version of Python installed, and they can’t remember how to remove the one that comes with the OS.
Jamboard users: For some reason, jamboards don't let you export the text from all the post-its, which is a shame. This bookmarklet will copy the text to your clipboard so you can paste it into a document. Hope it helps someone!

Is anyone aware of benchmarks/surveys of how much government or charity organisations spend on Digital, Data, and Technology? (As a proportion of their overall spend)
It aggravates me to no end when companies try to control the volume of customer enquiries through making it difficult to contact them, like disabling the ability to reply to their emails. The demand is still there; they’re just hiding it.
I have not found that docker 'just works' on the M1 macbook. I'm finding gotchas with just about every project...starting to wish I'd waited another year!
Well this is the most surprising debug journey I've had in a while. docker-compose hangs indefinitely on a new VPS, so the solution is to...install a utility that increases available entropy?! Would not have tried that...

Why do we have to build a new autocomplete component every time a new JS or UI framework comes out? Didn’t we solve this problem 15 years ago?
A (practical) native browser element would be great, but even a generic cross-framework-and-ui component would be nice. Anyone know one?
I just came across @mapnificent and I'm blown away by the tech - generating travel time isochrones from GTFS data *entirely in the browser*!🤯

There are still a few days left to apply for our Service Designer roles! A few things to know about the team and the way we work 🧵

This is a really important role @CitizensAdvice leading our #servicedesign practice & helping guide our services to be more inclusive, user-centred, & strategic.
We give people the knowledge & confidence they need to find their way fwd-whoever they are & whatever their problem.
I still have plenty of time to chat to people who are considering applying for our Service Design Lead role - don't be shy, and feel free to ask any questions! Some info about the role based on what I was asked so far...

Ugh, CSS utility frameworks like tailwind have made it *really* difficult to do web scraping, as devs no longer bother giving elements unique class names.
