An incredibly powerful statement by Louise Adler in resigning as director of AWW. The reaction to Bondi threatens so much of what it means to be Australian and the freedoms that we have. Her warnings as to the future are scary. Hopefully somewhere sense will prevail.
The NSW Upper House Committee investigating aerial shooting of feral horses in Kosciuszko NP has just reported. The report supports the actions of the NSW Government and NPWS in controlling the massive and damaging population of feral horses in the NP. parliament.nsw.gov.au/lcdocs…
As Park neighbours we applaud what NPWS is doing to finally address this issue. Kosciuszko is a degraded landscape due to the terrible impact of these feral animals that have not been controlled for far too long.
The damage that feral horses are doing is appalling! As park neighbours we applaud NPWS in their efforts to remove horses from the park one way or another. We need every tool available to save Kosciuszko.

Environmental groups and unions want federal Environment Minister @tanya_plibersek & her state/territory counterparts to take co-ordinated and urgent control of feral horse management and condemn acts of intimidation and violence towards parks staff.

Destroy the hydrology of an area and you change frog habitat forever. These frogs only occur along the western margin of the Wet Tropics. The single greatest threat to their survival is industrial wind farm development.

Two Great Barrier Reefs 380 million years apart. 150km west of the Daintree, the Mitchell-Palmer karst is an incredible natural wonder. Yet it is threatened by mining and other development. It should be a national park.

Fireflies live in forests and mangroves along the coast of NSW, QLD and the NT. Normally they grace the east coast for a short period each spring and summer.
In a few months we'll be seeing these lovely creatures come out of the woodworks in a number of our reserves in FNQ.
You MUST watch this video. What is happening in Queensland with industrial wind development is a true scandal. Some of the BEST KOALA HABITAT IN QLD IS BEING DESTROYED BY WIND DEVELOPMENT. It is beyond outrageous.

Common #Wombats (Vombatus ursinus) can be found on two of our reserves in NSW.
Their burrow can be up to 30 m long and several meters deep. These underground labyrinths can act as vital shelters for #Rockwallabies, #bettongs, #skinks and even little #penguins during #bushfires!
The responsibility for this sits firmly with the NSW government not the poor park managers. The government needs to give the park staff the weapons they need to start dealing with this catastrophic situation.

Given that we KNOW our ecosystems have an irreplaceable role in regulation of climate, & supplying dozens of other services essential to life on 🌎, and that wildlife numbers are an index of ecosystem health, I am baffled as to how anyone could think we are not overpopulated??
This is just disgraceful. Everyone knows that aerial culling is the only way to address this issue. The longer they wait, the more horses will have to be killed.
BREAKING: Data just released by the NSW Govt shows feral horse numbers have INCREASED by 30% or 4,434 in just 2yrs to over 18,000!
To save the Snowies, whoever wins the NSW election must ensure there are resources & commitment to turn this around.

Great article by Alan Austin in Michael West on how well the NZ economy faired under Jacinda Ardern. Poor Sheridan and the rest of the Murdoch slime. They seem to live in some alternate world where black is white.

Morrison, Porter, Tudge and an army of incompetent overpaid public servants presided over this. Robo debt was never legal, never accurate, was incredibly bad policy and destroyed many peoples lives. And ended up costing taxpayers a fortune. Can’t wait for the RC report.
#RobodebtRC Disability worker Sandra Bevan who was tormented over an illegal RoboDebt was given an opportunity to finally express herself as a witness at the commission.
These are the real effects on some of our best Australians. What a great mum you are Sandra 😥❤️
This article is profoundly disturbing. The description of Gina Reinhardt as a Trumpette takes some beating.
