COMESA KICKS OF IN HARARE.
COMESA is the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa. It evolved from the Preferential Trade Area formed in 1981 and became COMESA in 1994. Its Free Trade Area started in 2000 with 9 countries including Zimbabwe. It now has 21 member states, headquartered in Lusaka, Zambia, and is Africa's largest regional economic bloc.
It is built on trade facilitation, investment, infrastructure, industrialization, agriculture and digital transformation.
Benefits for Zimbabwe
Bigger market, duty-free access: Under the COMESA Free Trade Area, qualifying Zimbabwean goods enter member states free of customs duties, making our products highly competitive.
As Chair, Zimbabwe will prioritize tariff reduction and elimination of non-tariff barriers, and shape regional industrial policy around our priorities like mineral beneficiation and agro-processing.
The Simplified Trade Regime makes it cheaper and easier for SMEs and informal cross-border traders - especially women and youth - to trade, with simplified documents and duty relief.
Hosting COMESA activities - summits, investment forums, trade exhibitions - attracts investors who prefer a stable, central hub.
COMESA helps Zimbabwe move from exporting raw commodities to developing regional value chains - linking our lithium, platinum, chrome, nickel to regional processing and manufacturing, while lowering production costs through competitive sourcing of inputs.
COMESA is Zimbabwe's gateway to a bigger African market, and chairmanship turns Zimbabwe into the nerve centre of Africa's trade architecture.

UNITY, PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT
Unity, Peace and Development are core national aspirations for Zimbabwe because they address the country’s historical challenges and support its long-term stability and progress.
Unity is vital after the divisions of the liberation struggle and the early post-independence years (notably the conflict resolved by the 1987 Unity Accord). National cohesion reduces ethnic, regional, and political fragmentation, enabling collective effort and social stability.
Peace provides the security and predictability needed for daily life, investment, and governance. Without it, conflict destroys infrastructure, displaces people, and blocks economic activity.
Development is the practical goal that follows from the first two: sustained economic growth, better public services, job creation, and improved living standards. Unity and peace create the conditions in which development can take root and be shared more widely.
Together they form a simple but powerful framework: without internal cohesion and security, meaningful development is nearly impossible; without development, unity and peace remain fragile. These priorities continue to shape Zimbabwe’s political rhetoric and policy focus. @dereckgoto @SimangalisoDub5 @VNgwena1 @timotonho @hazelwekwagondo @chari639408

OPPOSITION SUPPORTERS INTEGRITY QUESTIONABLE.
The integrity of opposition supporters is questionable. In fact, they have no integrity at all.
They worshipped Nelson Chamisa like a god, until he exposed himself as an empty vessel with nothing to offer. A man who cannot match @ZANUPF_Official.
Now that he is finished, they are suddenly ZANU PF supporters! With their own fake, fictitious factions created in their bedrooms!
They have chosen a leader for themselves from inside ZANU PF and are barking for him on all social media platforms every day - yet he doesn't even know them. He has never met them. What a shameful desperation! @LynneStactia
They think they can manipulate General Chiwenga?
General Chiwenga has never been opposition. He will never be opposition. He is a loyal, disciplined Vice President serving happily under President @edmnangagwa, executing duties as instructed by his Commander-in-Chief. He has never insubordinated.
Where are they getting this nonsense?
From bitterness. From being dumped and left leaderless after Chamisa proved he is no match for ZANU PF.
You have no party.

PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA'S ENGAGEMENT AND RE-ENGAGEMENT POLICY BEARING FRUIT;
GLOBAL ICONS FLOCK TO ZIMBABWE
President @edmnangagwa's Engagement and Re-Engagement Policy is now a reality.
Since he championed the policy, Zimbabwe has witnessed an influx of globally important personalities visiting the country, giving a major boost to the tourism sector and brand Zimbabwe.
The latest high-profile visitor is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the co-owner of the world-famous Manchester United Football Club, who is currently in Zimbabwe enjoying the Zimbabwean sunshine.
This is clear testimony that Zimbabwe is open for business and is now a destination of choice for global investors and tourists.

𝗦𝗢, 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥?
Someone raised a fascinating question today:
Have sanctions suddenly become effective because Cde Hon. Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei has been appointed Minister?
For more than two decades, we have argued that Western sanctions have undermined Zimbabwe's economic development, restricted access to international finance and complicated our country's economic recovery.
And what did our critics say?
"They're targeted."
"They don't affect ordinary Zimbabweans."
"Sanctions are just an excuse."
Now Dr Tagwirei becomes Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion, and suddenly sanctions are being presented as a potentially insurmountable obstacle to his success.
What changed? The sanctions, or the politics?
You cannot spend 25 years dismissing concerns about sanctions, only to invoke their devastating consequences when politically convenient.
But here is the bigger point.
I believe Dr Tagwirei was appointed not despite his experience with sanctions, but precisely because of his demonstrated ability to operate under them.
He has built substantial business interests across strategic sectors, including energy, mining and finance, while navigating an exceptionally difficult international environment.
That experience is not incidental. It is relevant to the responsibilities of his new office.
In my assessment, Zimbabwe has appointed one of its most experienced sanctions navigators to a ministry tasked with attracting investment and accelerating economic development.
The real test is not whether Dr Tagwirei can operate under sanctions. He has already demonstrated that he can.
The real test is whether he can translate that experience into investment, industrial expansion, jobs and measurable economic growth.
And to those suddenly discovering the power of sanctions, one question remains:
Were you wrong about sanctions for 25 years, or has Dr Tagwirei's appointment simply changed your political argument?

We are particularly proud that Cde Mary Mliswa Chikoka has made history as the first woman to lead the organisation of a ZANU PF National People’s Conference since the party’s formation. This is a remarkable milestone that demonstrates the growing role of women in leadership and their capacity to deliver on major national assignments.
