One thing I have normalized is getting use to disappointments, and from anyone; Both family and the closest of friends. Know that anyone can fall short of expectations. Learn to accept this reality so when people devalue your presence in their life, it's easy to readjust and keep it moving (respectfully). No-one is too important to cut ties with, and life is too short to wait for people to come around or act right. I urge you to do the same.
