After I posted about being stranded overnight by @AmericanAir, they reached out to me to “help rebook immediately.”
My wife, @monique_luisi who experienced everything I did, posted about it, and has been equally impacted- yet their response to her was:
She’s Black. I’m white.
I can’t help but notice the disparity. And I’m not okay with it.
We both deserve help. We both deserve to be seen.
Accountability isn’t just about delay times and vouchers. It’s also about who gets heard — and who doesn’t.
@AmericanAir, you have a chance to make this right. Do better.
Fun fact: Since beginning as a graduate student at Mizzou in 2017 through my time as an assistant teaching professor (2022-now)I have taught/been responsible for grading exactly 1,111 students…
My and @monique_luisi’s girl went across the rainbow bridge today. Domino, you will always have our hearts. You always said it best, so I’ll leave the final word to you, “Roo Roo” ❤️🩹

Having now seen all of the Planet of the Apes films, here is how I rank them:
10) Planet of the Apes (2001)
9) Battle for the Planet of the Apes
8) Beneath the Planet of the Apes
7)Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
6) War for the Planet of the Apes
Just finally caught up on all episodes of The Bear. This being marketed and winning awards as a “comedy” could result in a class action lawsuit in the years to come. The Seven Fishes and the season two finale were DEVASTATING is what I am saying.
Because I am teaching about AI and kids today and also to celebrate its 25th anniversary, last night I re-watched The Matrix on Blu-Ray for the first time in years... Beyond being entirely too relevant, that movie absolutely rips!
In the midst of a Mamma Mia!/ Les Miserables double header while grading. How would you describe this pairing?
I only use ChatGPT for serious things like asking it who would win in a fight between an elephant or a bear while filling out a #marchmadness mascot strength bracket....
The answer is the elephant in case you were wondering.
I have seen Dune Part 2 twice. My one firm opinion is this: There will not be five better supporting actors this year than Javier Bardem. Send him his nomination now.
Polled both of my children, adolescent, and media classes today about which fictional candidate they would want to enter the 2024 election. In the thread below, I will post the most talked about contenders and a few lone votes worth mentioning:
