I am hearing shocking news that @CityWestminster have agreed to hand over #oxfordstreet to the Mayor under red route regulations! What happened to standing up to @MayorofLondon for our residents! How can you say it is needed as a Red route and pedestrianise
Once we have full details I will share.

We welcome the ambition to update John Nash’s vision to connect St. James's Park to Regent's Park by improving the streetscape of Regent Street, Haymarket and Piccadilly Circus.
We are however concerned that the traffic modelling, particularly for Great Windmill Street may not be showing the full impact of the changes. We need to ensure that all residents and local stakeholders are both fully engaged but also listened to during the upcoming consultation period which we feel needs to be longer as it is too short a time for local residents and businesses to consider the implications of these proposals.

Yet another reason why #docklessbikes need a rethink. The kickstands are not effective in windy conditions, resulting in bikes falling over, becoming a hazard for cars and pedestrians alike.
@limebike, I suggest you look into it, as this is an accident waiting to happen.

Had a wonderful time campaigning this morning for @twocitiesnickie with @LGBTCons in St James’s ward. The rain cleared and was super to chat with some residents too! All very positive responses 🇬🇧🗳

Thankfully @wminsterlabour has kept the hardship fund we established for council tenants in the most difficulty, but it’s hard Labour for the vast majority of tenants facing a 7% rent increase - the maximum allowed. Last year Labour opposed any mention of an increase. (4/8)

The only Conservative Councillor to see an increase in his remuneration is Cllr @timjmitchell. He has pledged to donate any remuneration increase over 4% to local charities, who are helping to alleviate the cost-of-living crisis. We have challenged Labour to do the same. (3/8)

Had 5 Labour Councillors stood up to the @wminsterlabour Leadership & voted with the Conservative Group this outrageous cash grab could have been stopped. However every Labour Councillor chose to put their interest over what is fairest for local residents. #CostOfLabour (2/8)

Vandalising great works of art does absolutely nothing to persuade either the public or politicians of the merits of your argument.
Activists with @JustStop_Oil have thrown tomato soup on Van Gogh’s Sunflowers at the national Gallery and glued themselves to the wall.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The action was dramatic but the picture was unscathed and is already back on display. The frame was damaged slightly, according to The National Gallery. Adding as context because people might believe the protesters damaged the painting. twitter.com/nationalgaller…

We share Mark Rowley's frustration that these protests mean 200+ officers a day being "taken away from tackling issues that matter most to communities."
Blocking people reaching hospitals & earning their livings can't be tolerated.
Why has @WMinsterLabour been silent on this?
