There's a big difference between "speaking up" & "calling out". This is so relevant in the context of building psychological safety & addressing issues & concerns within teams. ‘Speak up’ cultures enable people to get under the surface of issues; to feel & be heard. ‘Call out’ cultures shut down open & honest communication, breeding fear & discontent. When things go wrong, there's often a knee jerk reaction towards fault finding. Stepping back from this & instead focusing on finding solutions supports growth & development of people & systems. linkedin.com/feed/update/urn…. By @drbrockbastian. Graphic: Mays W. on LinkedIn. Errors or lies…it doesn’t really matter. The impact of even less funding than promised will have a huge impact on schools. Add a no doubt unfunded support staff payrise and the cuts to SEND funding and this is an attack on inclusive schools. theguardian.com/education/20…

Last year, working in Ireland, having a pint in the cold outside a Dalkey pub with some new friends, a woman with purpose strode past us. Puffy parker zipped to the nape and her bowed head covered in a scarf. One of my new friends muttered an exclamation, jumped up

UK friends! This year’s All-Ireland Hurling Final will be live on BBC iPlayer on Sunday afternoon 3.30pm. It’ll be Limerick v Kilkenny, a repeat of last year’s final and it might be a classic. You will certainly see why I keep going on about Hurling here…
