I feel in this interview Gavan managed to get all the most useful ideas and career stories from me.
Some people told me it was very useful for their career. I predict it's going to be useful for a lot of you. You can find it as a podcast too.

Kyrgyzstan e-gov services are million times better than US e-gov services. Hope @jgebbia and their amazing team will improve the IRS phone support soon too.
Can someone escalate this? @jgebbia
I've been calling IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line +1 800-829-4933 for weeks now just to find out the status of my foreign EIN application which I need to file US taxes.
Their staff keep hanging up in the middle of the call or stay quiet!
Foreign workers are mainly not hired because it's cheaper. They are usually hired because they better match the role.
Everyone who is saying H1B labor is cheap. Do you know much about H1B wage requirements?
Look at H1B engineer salaries at Decagon. Doesn't look "cheap" to me

And for an immigration firm in the US, I strongly recommend Alma!
If you a foreign worker at Microsoft or Adobe affected by this, you can apply to is at Outtalent.com.
If there is a match, we can assist you in switching to another big tech firm.
What I heard is that those Indian outsourcing firms were abusing the program for decades applying the same person multiple times in the same H1B lottery.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I heard nothing negative about Microsoft and Adobe here.
.@Sonderling47: "I am hereby suspending from the Permanent Labor Certification Program some of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world — Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini — and also, due to multiple active federal investigations, @USDOL is suspending Microsoft and Adobe from the program."

Beautiful analogy from @ylecun about the opportunities and changes with AI, in mathematics and in science more broadly.

What do you guys think?
How do words used by UFC fighters in interviews before their title fights correlate with subsequent wins & losses?
Attached is the answer by ChatGPT-6 Astra Medium.
If you value dad's presence and attention less than money and resources, then I can see Elon's point but I think most children need their dad's presence and attention.
Open to be shown where I am wrong. 🙏
Replying to @DefiantLs
No one has provided for their children more than I have.
She is as ugly on the inside as she is on the outside.
So far, @BernieSanders seems to me as the closest person who could coordinate a pause on AI between US and China.
Is he ideal? No. Is there someone better for this? I don't know.
Elon Musk says Jacob Coxon’s warning about the existential threat of AI is a “setup.”
Really?
In 2014, Musk said, “With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon.”
In 2018, Musk said, “Mark my words, AI is far more dangerous than nukes. Far. So why do we have no regulatory oversight? This is insane.”
In 2025, Musk said, earth faces a 10-20% chance of “killer robots annihilating humanity.”
Elon, what’s changed? Does it have anything to do with the fact that you have invested many billions of dollars in AI and plan to build ten million robots a year?
I believe Jacob, I don't think it's a stunt for "regulatory capture" or something like that.
Nice!
Why this is a big deal:
this mRNA therapy instructs the body to produce the specific fingerprints of the person's tumor and trains the immune system to hunt and kill it.
First time in a Phase 3 trial.
One way cancer grows is by hiding from the immune system and turning off attacking T-cells. This mRNA therapy provides the tumor's genetic fingerprint so that the immune system can train T-cells to identify the cancer. Keytruda then removes the brakes that cancer had put on the T-cells enabling them to eliminate the cancer.
Wow
With cancer vaccines now being discovered with AI ($MRNA), it seems that the US government might actually grow its way out of its budget deficit.
It feels like we're in the early innings of the healthcare system becoming unburdened by many terminal illnesses.
As a US taxpayer,
I'd be happy paying for healthcare for all children but I wouldn't want to pay for healthcare for grown ups who just kept making horrible life choices as adults.
Maybe only for their psychotherapy but only if it's a proven methodology and they show progress.
