The reason why DM will always be the best Armand ship is bc while for everyone else Armand was molding himself into what he believed they needed him to be to the point of identity crisis, and they kept mocking and dragging him for it, Daniel fell in love with what’s left when he is not trying to be what someone else needs him to be. His most natural, raw and vulnerable version. No one else can claim this. No one else gave Armand this freedom. No one else pushed him to claim all the darkest parts of himself and embrace them as who he is instead of trying to hide it. And I think that’s beautiful. 🖤
While everyone else in Armand’s life kept finding him boring, annoying, exhausting, overbearing, Daniel found him fascinating. Daniel found him intimidating in a way that made him drawn to Armand, like a moth a flame. The feeling he felt for him was sort of what he felt in his addiction to drugs. Almost like Armand himself and/or his blood became Daniel’s substitute for drugs. Feeling that strong.
