FEESH! Yes, it’s originally a dog toy. Deal with it. When you’re a bear, you’ve gotta get the Feesh!

Finally watched Supergirl. I liked it. Not sure why folks hated it vehemently. It’s always refreshing to see strong and complex female characters. Not a fan of Mary Sue types at all. Also, David Corenswet is such a good Superman. I can’t help but grin anytime he’s on screen.

Should I post a pic of my interview threads once I get dressed? Be forewarned, it’s very English coded.

Good morning, tiny friends and peeps! It’s a good day to push yourself and grow in one way or another. Don’t seek comfort. Seek curiosity!

Alright, bear with me, and if you can't... Well, maybe wolf with me instead. Its time for a life update! Its a bit of a long one since vague-posting is not ultimately vogue-posting. The end of next month marks the end of my current lease. I will roll right from being fat and happy due to Thanksgiving into a new season of life. However, how this would look and work itself out has been no small matter of uncertainty for a number of months now. At the beginning of this year, I took a position with a friend, working for him and his construction business, as a carpenter. It has been simultaneously the most exhausting, in a good way mind you, and rewarding work I have ever done. I have learned so much and even the difficult days are good ones. However, current logistics and factors have made full time employment with him... Impossible. And he is frustrated on my behalf for this. The circumstances are beyond his control, and I am okay with that. The relative freedom I've had beyond my three-day work-week has been nice, but it is no less chaotic and carefree. Every week is some bevy of overload and responsibilities. So much so that it was causing significant mental health problems. I like to overcommit... Or I feel like I am not doing enough. Its a Chinese finger trap if ever there was one. Some things have fallen by the wayside to my chagrin... Emotional and mental bandwidth is often shot, and it leaves me scrambling to constantly turn, turn, turn for nearly any and all situations. To the befuddlement of some, the worry of others, and even the perturbance of a few, I began to step away from things. That started with streaming. I asked myself, "How do I focus on the things that truly matter to me and what I want from my life with how I think the path has been most immediately laid before me?" That then led me to some very uncomfortable but necessary conclusions with some in-person responsibilities I had, and how some part of me was captivated by the near incessant turmoil and mayhem. This even applied to my outlook on things in my life. So, I decided to cut them out, too and change my perspectives. While it feels a weight is lifted off my shoulders, there is still a long road ahead. Why do I bring this up? Because my perspective on life changing up allowed me to see things a little more... Creatively. And suddenly, I had an epiphany of how I could remedy my impending housing situation. I would be homeless! Don't blush and clutch your pearls. Its homeless on a technicality... But my mind had been captivated by the notion of retrofitting my vehicle, which is considered property in my state, and doing "van-life" for a few months. This would entail selling off most of my possessions and then throwing what remains in storage and become a nomadic bear. Such an idea is not without its perils, but with my sharpened craftsman skills, a desire to unlock a new achievement, and having a robust support network of somewhat local friends and family, the way forward seemed clear. And I have had my head down for the past few weeks figuring out this unconventional plan of mine... Until this past weekend... Dear friends had gotten word of my bear-brained scheme, and were quite worried. So they had discussed amongst themselves to make me an offer to live in their basement temporarily and help with their sprawling homestead until something more permanent popped up. One invited me, while the other quite literally threatened me. As my best friend from college put it, "They understand that you require being threatened to actually receive care, you stubborn fool." So, heading into this week, I was pivoting slightly, but had a more comforting and less uncertain sense of what laid ahead. What a fool I was/am. Halfway through the work day on Monday, I get a phone call from a person I am not expecting. I have some business dealings with this person normally, and so I anticipated that their call was about said business. However, it was not. You see, in 2025, shortly after being laid off the first time, I applied for a position at the company with whom this person works. It was a position that really spoke to me. And the slew of interviews I had for it, made it seem like a done deal. But then, like the Avatar, they vanished. Its okay, I ain't sore or anything. I eventually got the second job I got laid off from instead. But, to get back to my contact, they informed me that my resume had come back across their desk, and that there was an unfolding situation that I would be perfect to step in to if I was interested in applying. I thanked them for the consideration, said I'd think about it. Shortly thereafter, I told my boss. He is one of my best friends after all. While sad at the prospect of losing me if it did work out so, he encouraged me to pursue it if it was what is best for me. He is a good man. Then Lewis happened. For those who saw my post about the orphaned Squirrel(???) the other day... That coincides with another development. The Wildlife Rescue was quite a ways away. And as I was leaving the compound after dropping him off, a weird thought popped into my head, "I wonder how far away the physical location of this job is?" I hit a few keys and my magic mirror told me it was only ten minutes away. For a moment, I hesitated. I was still in my work clothes, caked in sawdust, dirt, and slime. I had not shaved in three days. And I was exhausted. But I decided I wanted to get a lay of the land and so I made my way over. Once there and parked, I decided to take a look around the property... And ended up coming face to face with the person who would be my boss. When I apologised for being curious, explained my presence, and even my appearance, they lit up like a Christmas tree and invited me inside to interview right then and there. Forty-five mins later and I was on my way home. But no sooner than did I get home and I got another call. It was an invitation to speak with the boss' boss on Friday. All that to say, I got confirmation this morning that I have a meeting scheduled tomorrow. So we'll see what happens! If I get this position, some moving will be happening, but it won't entail van-life. Regardless of what the sum of tomorrow is, a lot has been changing, and a bit more will change before the year is out. A lot of my creative efforts and business ventures have been on pause as I try to get my life and mind in order so I can do things as they deserve. As Ron Swanson would say, "Whole-ass one thing. Don't half-ass two things." I am humbled by and thankful for the encouragement and patience that has been shown to me over the past few months with my silence, both from friends and acquaintances. I have some more words I want to share on things I plan on doing soon, both creatively and personally. But it isn't pressing. Just part of me setting my house in order as it were. Regardless, thank you! We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Hot take as a graphic designer… I think this an actually phenomenal update to the music app logo, even though I normally love colours. And honestly kinda brilliant. Why, you may ask? Because this actually makes the icon feel akin to sheet music. It’s subtle but strong.

Update II. Lewis is in the hands of the local-ish wildlife rescue. Had to drive an hour in rush hour traffic. But he’s safe. I’ve got a patient number for him in terms of checking his progress. I might share that here if there’s no sensitive information involved. For the record, moving him was a very last resort. Over the course of the day, my boss and I kept an eye on the nest and didn’t notice the mother at all. However, towards the end of the work day, I noticed the healthy ones were gone, two of them were dead, and then Lewis was dragged about two feet away from the nest, lying on the ground and on the verge of being trampled. It’s not an optimal situation, but you have to do what you can. Life is precious. And seeing him struggling, especially in light of the missing/deaths of his siblings, reminded me that if his life was valuable… even as a Squirrel… how much more so is an infant human life? Yet some will say only one is worth saving or protecting… and it’s not the human.
Update. Two dead. Two missing. One discarded but alive. Taking the fighter to a wildlife rescue. His name shall be, “Lewis.”
