An older order doesn't always get filled first. In Ticko's order book, price comes before time.
Ticko uses a Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) with price-time priority matching:
→ Better prices are matched first.
→ At the same price, the order earlier in the sequence is matched first.
Here's a simplified example. Suppose the sell side contains these orders:
→ 1 BTC at $60,010, entered first
→ 0.5 BTC at $60,000, entered second
→ 1 BTC at $60,000, entered third
A market buy for 1.2 BTC would first fill the 0.5 BTC order at $60,000, then take 0.7 BTC from the next order at that price. The entire buy would execute at $60,000.
The oldest order at $60,010 would remain unfilled because a better price was available. Between the two orders at $60,000, sequence determines which fills first.
These rules give traders a clear way to understand matching, alongside a familiar order-book experience and visible market depth.
Ticko combines this matching model with public inputs and replayable execution, allowing traders to independently check how orders were processed and how the resulting trades affected their accounts.
Ticko Beta Mainnet is almost here. Stay tuned for launch details and access information.
