Huge congratulations to Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa on crossing 2700 in live ratings! Pragg defeated GM Parham Maghsoodloo with the White pieces in round 2 of V. Geza Hetenyi Memorial to cross the 2700 rating mark. India now has 6 Super GMs! The youngster was very close to reaching 2700 in multiple occasions throughout the past year. With 2 consecutive wins over Sanan Sjugirov and Parham Maghsoodloo in the V. Geza Hetenyi Memorial Super GM Round Robin, he has achieved it! Pragg has leapfrogged upto World no. 34 now in the live ratings. Huge congratulations to Praggnanandhaa, his family, his coach Ramesh RB, the WestBridge-Anand Chess Academy, and his whole team for this milestone! Photos: Harry Gielen, @2700chess
