100% support for those protesting Mamdani. You can still like the good stuff he’s implemented while simultaneously shaming him. That is what you are supposed to do when the politicians you vote for go against their word. These people are not our heroes, and he deserves the heat.

@RidaHosain's timely piece was temporarily taken offline for editorial review. It has been republished with only the addition of this phrase: “from settled law as previously understood”. The writer’s original headline has been retained as well. dawn.com/news/2033991/how-th…

Nothing screams why we need gender sensitive judges, female judges and a better Judicial appointment process in apex courts more than the recent FCC judgement by the beneficiaries of the 27th amendment that is in disregard of due process and the law.

The Federal Constitutional Court’s judgment on workplace harassment limits the ambit of the law to only “sexual harassment” and appears to increase the burden of proof on the complainant It is easily one of the most regressive judgments related to gender-based abuse in recent times and fails victims of harassment, including women. It is poorly reasoned, disconnected with how workplace harassment actually occurs, and ignores important sections of the law it is supposed to interpret Yet another example of how the FCC experiment is a complete and utter disaster

A terrible, regressive, judgment that makes Pakistan’s workplace harassment law out of step with international best practices. Harassment operates across a spectrum but the FCC fixates on one point, leaving countless women without an avenue for redressal.
The ruling marks a departure from the Supreme Court's recent interpretation of the law by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Ayesha Malik. In a 2025 judgment, the Supreme Court held that workplace harassment could include gender-based discrimination and the creation of a hostile work environment, emphasising that such conduct could stem from power and domination rather than sexual desire. The FCC disagreed with that interpretation, holding that the statutory definition in Section 2(h) required the element of sexual harassment for conduct to become actionable before the ombudsperson. The court observed that any misconduct or behaviour unbecoming of an employee towards another employee or an employer could generically be classified as harassment, but would not, by itself, be actionable under the 2010 Act unless the conduct was demonstrated to be sexual in nature. It held that grave or otherwise actionable misconduct could have serious consequences but did not fall within the statutory definition of harassment unless it had a sexual origin.

Mamdani has failed to do anything legislatively meaningful for Palestine despite making it central to his campaign. He uses symbolism to hide from his inaction, and because it's rare to see a politician openly support Palestine, liberals settle for symbolism instead of policy.

🚨🚨🚨 It has now been confirmed by multiple sources that @ImranKhanPTI’s sisters have been on hunger strike in prison for the past 48 hours, protesting their alleged illegal detention and the reported maltreatment of women prisoners. The family has also reportedly been denied access to them.

Someone has a new season of his show coming out and doesn’t want the Ed Sheeran treatment.
In an interview with GQ about his political activism, actor Adam Brody goes on the record about his stance on Palestine: "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It's awful that it's taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it's reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago." gq.visitlink.me/XbxgCV
