Good evening from the Isles of Scilly. Here’s the forecast for the Islands on Wednesday. Sun and clouds Thanks to John for the lovely photo of Porthcressa on Monday evening, with its gorgeous colours. It's not often glassy seas like that, and must have been idyllic for the boats anchored there for the night. The fog rolled in later but left early on Tuesday morning, leaving us with another warm mostly sunny day. We escaped the showers on Tuesday and this could well be the case on Wednesday as well, with mostly sunshine but some clouds about. UV is forecast at 5 on Wednesday. The wind will be from the NW, a little fresher at 10-20mph, but there's only a slight chance of a shower. Temperatures will remain warm and rise to 15-17ºC again, with overnight temperatures between 11-14ºC, but it is the start of a short spell of slightly lower temperatures. It won't feel much different, but the fresher breeze will feel pleasantly cool. Thursday and Friday look quite dry, with less breeze on Friday, but on Saturday there will be a little showery rain coming in. The rest of the Bank Holiday weekend overall looks good as high pressure slowly settles in for a few days. Temperatures will be a little cooler, but only by a degree or two. Sunrise on Wednesday is at 05.29 and sunset at 21.14.
