The “not smiling because we’re grinding” discourse is perfect time to pull out a verse from my favorite poem by Rumi

had the most fun chatting all things design, hackathons, and simulation with @Libbiefrost and @thisisrayouf
thanks for having me 🤍
ps. yes we are in a simulation
Mihika Kapoor (@mihikapoor) has a habit of making her ideas come to life.
Founding a national design conference as a student, incubating FigJam and Figma Slides from internal hackathons, starting her own company... and most recently joining Simile (@simile_ai) as Head of Product.
Simile simulates human behavior so companies can hear from the people their decisions affect. Or as Mihika puts it, “We see our work as being the voice of these humans in the rooms they are otherwise not in.”
We talk about why they add "show your work" to "simplify" as a core design principle, building the brand around the word human, and landing on a pixel game town aesthetic for an early stage company selling to F100 buyers.

There is a good chance that your favorite designer’s favorite designer is @adamho. It was a pleasure interviewing Adam for @creativecpress
Adam thinks about design the way he thinks about music. He treats his body of work like a discography, hunting for a signature sound while trying something new with every release. His vocabulary is built from circle and square primitives, and his instincts are shaped by the fine art world and graphic design books. We chatted about his path to design, running his studio and transition to leading @fal design team.

Design as discography: a creative conviction interview with adam ho (@adamho), head of design at fal (@fal), the generative media platform for developers
Adam came to design the long way, through marketing, a media-planning job, startups and years of self-teaching, before this grew into a decade-long practice. Before joining fal full-time, he led an independent studio practice out of Brooklyn, with clients covering developer tools, crypto and other emerging technology companies.
Adam thinks about design the way he thinks about music. He treats his body of work like a discography, hunting for a signature sound while trying something new with every release. His vocabulary is built from circle and square primitives, and his instincts are shaped by the fine art world and graphic design books.
Our conversation moves through his path into design, how he communicates a style clients can feel more than just see, the shift from an independent studio to leading a team in-house, and how creative decisions get made at fal. Along the way, he makes the case that in an industry AI has made fast and frictionless, the best work comes from deliberately putting some friction back in.

Liz Dorman owns more than a hundred old phones. There is a 1970s Bell telephone, Siemens handsets that were released in seasonal collections like clothing, and her prized piece: a hot pink Motorola Razr signed by Paris Hilton. To Dorman, the collection is evidence that technology used to be weird, expressive, and fun, and she believes it can be again. So, she founded @eraworldsto to build what she calls "couture computing."
It was so much fun talking to @lizwandersworld for @creativecpress, whose vision of what hardware should be is rooted in delight and individuality. Read the full interview at the link in the thread.

So excited to share the latest version of Operate
We spent 18 months building a high-craft CRM and realized that wasn’t it. In a world of agents, the sales tool of record had to be rethought from the ground up.
· Long running durable agents: one per deal, one watching pipeline, and more. Specialized to your business, product, and competitive market.
· Collaborative with agents, people, and tools: Sales is a team game, and single-player Claude isn’t working.
· AI-native connectors: Bespoke MCP gateway for sales tools everyone uses like Outreach, Gong/Granola, CRMs, etc. Plus the ability to add that one-off tool that every team has.
· Memory as a first class consideration - Structured data is necessary but incomplete. Keep that in a CRM or data warehouse but let the nature of sales context flow freely.
· Traceability - data hygiene is already a problem. Ensure ops can observe agent changes, evals, tool calls, etc.
· Fire UI - Wrap it all up in the nicest GTM tool UI possible
We pivoted 8 weeks ago but spent the last decade preparing for this moment. We deeply believe in this future and we’re just got started.
We believe that software doesn’t close deals. You do.
Excited to introduce Operate, the collaborative AI tool built for frontier sales teams.
TLDR; Rethought from the ground up, we connect your whole sales stack (CRM, calls, inbox, and more) to surface where every deal stands and what’s next.
Sales leaders get a forecast they trust and don’t have to DM their reps on Slack for status updates and data hygiene issues. Sales reps can stay out of the CRM and the tedious toil of admin.
We’re working with growing sales teams (3-50 reps) on making AI actually effective for sales including mapping the pipeline, routing to agents/deterministic paths, implementing real workflows, and tracking goal progress.
If this resonates, sign up to the waitlist. If you are a good fit, the form will redirect so you can schedule a chat with one of our co-founders.

Colin Daymond Hanna (@colindaymond) literally climbed a mountainside in the Austrian Alps to take this interview with us. It felt fitting - Colin describes himself as a child of the earth.
Chapter by chapter, life showed him that software can be a force for good - if it's built transparently, with the good of the user in mind. Earendil, which he co-founded with Armin (@mitsuhiko) and creates the beloved tools Pi (@badlogicgames) and Lefos, is that belief turned into a company.
We talked about the seven principles they wrote before building anything, why you should own your harness, and why every small detail - down to the waves coded on the landing page and a hand-drawn elven boat logo - traces back to one ethos: light in the darkness.

We've been working with the top frontier labs to improve their design model capabilities. Today we're bringing that to your agents.
Introducing our first agent tool: the Brand API.
As the cost of creation goes to zero, and slop floods around us, the challenge is creating things worth existing. Agents need the right tools to craft great things.
This helps gen AI agents solve 3 problems:
- Extract: produce on-brand assets when users already have a brand
- Search: find and retrieve brands for inspiration, from our curated index
- Verify: check their own work against, see what's off brand and how to fix it
Anyone can try it for free today at tastelabs.com/api
Check out the full blog, and case study with @intelligenceco below.

saudi arabia and adobe are offering ~$4B worth of Adobe’s creative software to the country for free. i’m doing a mini-dive into the economic, social, and tech impacts of this particular national scale software distribution with @OutliersVC . if you have any interesting takes or have used Adobe in Saudi since the rollout, or have an opinion on this, please DM me :)
I’ve started seeing anthropic/oai move beyond just sponsoring creative technologists towards more “culture” creators or events (like neighbor fest in nyc), and can’t help but view that the distribution is more frictionful (non-wavering anti ai sentiment in the comments) than valuable, at least for the time being.
You can’t brute force your way into a sense of cultural inevitability through sponsored trips and creators alone when the underlying product hasn’t yet created an undeniable reason (or even a perceived value) for the average person to care/support it
