Should you join an early-stage startup? A thread 🪔 Quick background: In February 2021, @reforge raised a $20 million Series A. A few weeks later, I clicked the ā€œEnd Meetingā€ button and finished my last day.

Folks have asked if the interesting Washington Post article (below) shows #WFH reduces productivity? No. Productivity growth (plotted quarterly below from 1947) is very noisy. Indeed, this averaged 0.2% post-pandemic vs 0.2% the year pre-pandemic. washingtonpost.com/business/…

The foundation for all progress: Monotonous consistency. So find a way to fall in love with it. My little hack: Every time I put in another rep, I picture myself leapfrogging the millions of others who quit on that exact step in their journey.

Just had a horrible experience donating blood today. Never doing that again. Too many stupid questions. Who's blood is it ? Where did you get it from ? Why's it in a bucket ?

Looking forward to finally seeing this in @chaptersbooks. Dublin’s northside needs Chapters and the man himself would approve.
We just couldn’t let it go! The Gamesworld lads from the back of Chapter’s Middle Abbey St, Kev & Mick are the new owners of Chapters - reopening Friday 11th March!

If you need a little joy today... @TheyGotAcquired is featured in The New York Times' On Tech newsletter from @ShiraOvide. I really respect the NYT, so for them to notice the work we're doing just three weeks after launch feels pretty special. nytimes.com/2022/03/01/techn…

A 🧵 on how I set up content operations for @TheyGotAcquired, which launched this week. I think of content ops as three distinct pieces: šŸ§‘ā€šŸ¦± People / hiring āš™ļø Tools / workflow āœšŸ½ Content My approach to building it šŸ‘‡

I’ve learned over and over that you’re rarely ā€œtoo lateā€ to macro trends. For example: I thought I was too late to… Remote work in 2016. Crypto in 2017. Indie hacking in 2018. Sleep trends in 2019. Podcasting in 2020. Boy was I wrong. And I'll be wrong again.

I’ve been trying to articulate what it is exactly that resonates with me with the murder of #AshlingMurphy because the more we talk about broad daylight, the more we feel like we may tread into victim-blaming elsewhere. What it is, for me, is that whilst women shouldn’t have to..

With all the craziness of building a startup, it’s easy to forget that at the end of the day, @joinLeland was created so that more people could send and receive texts like this. Just the beginning.

Very comprehensive review of Haughey by Michael Heney in @dubreviewbooks. He has his criticisms but my view of reviews is once you enter the bear pit you take your chances. drb.ie/articles/the-smartest…

This is my favorite part of what I do, helping folks get straight cash money (or bitcoin) for what they are passionate about.
Technically, Closing Credits has only been in business since Aug 1. As of yesterday, our in-house studio has cast over 100 different people directly from our private job board. We are so happy to be not only providing education, but also paid work.
