Told the same long back to friends - Cong walked into a well laid trap w.r.t delimitation and women’s reservation bill
In @the_hindu today
‘The Congress assumes success in preventing a BJP amendment wrt delimitation..It must know that it has no viable path to keeping both the current strength and the shares of individual States intact. The only two options are: first, the number of Lok Sabha seats increases, but the individual share of States remains unchanged through a constitutional amendment, as the BJP says but has not written in a draft legislation. Second, the number of seats does not increase, but the existing seats get reallocated on the basis of the latest Census, leading to a massive slash in the representation of Keralam, Tamil Nadu and other States in similar positions both as absolute numbers and proportion. The BJP will blame the Congress and the Left, if the second option plays out, while reaping the advantage of the additional share in the heartland. The BJP has two good options from its vantage point; the Congress has two bad options to choose from, from its vantage point.’

13 crore "deleted voters"? The data say about 70 lakh eligible voters removed without adequate explanation, where SIR is final. 7 of every 8 removals were justified. Much Ado About (Almost) Nothing. A thread

130 million off the rolls says CJP-Congress? Not so - likely closer to 7 million, less than 1 % of those eligible to vote. None should be excluded. True. But a Goebbelsian lie repeated ad nauseam does not convert it into truth.

My views on @ndtv with dear @ShivAroor
- Hanuman searched for a Sita (whom he had never seen earlier) in a Lanka (where he had never been earlier) and fought a large army of strong rakshasas
- Hanuman Chalisa was composed by Goswami Tulsidas in the jail when he was imprisoned by Akbar ‘the great’ and a troop of monkeys played havoc and got the bhakta released
- READ the above 👆🏼 points and you will know how Sri Smit had the blessings of Hanuman through the Chalisa mid-air
- Like Jatayu who tried to save Sita while fighting Ravana, so was Smit in fighting the co-pilot and wanting to save the passengers
- Finally, this is what religion and its civilisation should do. It must enthuse its followers to look at humanity in the larger sense. It must inspire its followers to saving lives and not lure them to killing people for an unseen heaven
- My obeisances to Sri Smit & to his dharmic parents & family 🙏🏽

VIDEO | Indian hockey player Udita Duhan expressed her delight after both the Indian men's and women's teams returned with gold medals from the Asian Games. Speaking on the arrival of the men's hockey team at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi on Monday, Udita said the achievements of both teams had made the entire country proud and also highlighted the support system she shares with her husband, Indian men's hockey player Mandeep Singh.
She says, "I am extremely happy and I cannot express this feeling in words. Both the men's and women's teams have returned with gold medals, and the entire country is proud of them. Mandeep and I train together and always give feedback to each other. Whenever we travel to compete in tournaments, we continue to learn from and support one another. That is one of our biggest strengths."

I am not a religious person but I do have faith by in a higher power. To my kids, who all have very different relationship with God, here is what I would recommend: when you pray, it should be to save and serve lives.
The FlyDubai incident presented two diametrically opposite references to God and prayer by the two men flying the plane.
I would want them to pick the example of the pilot who chose to save. Every time. Always.
