Got my spoon saver model put up on printables: printables.com/model/451064-… Its a TPU magnet holder that goes in your sink's garbage disposal mouth and catches metal silverware. #3Dprinting

Got my ox64 linux stuff built. Was super easy, now I just need my ox64 to get here from hong kong...
My sister in law just lost ~10 years of photos, videos and other files... Good reminder to go double check your offsite backups and make sure they're working everyone!
Trying out my #ESP32 s2 with the USB host mass storage example code, code builds and uploads, but it doesn't write to the USB drive. Odd. It's plugged in with an OTG adapter that I've used on other boards. Its not even powering up the drive...

I did get it to work by hacking together a USB port with some female jumper wires hooked up directly to power, ground and the usb pins. Not optimal though...

And it wrote to the USB drive!
Hmm that was disappointing. My high torque mini dc motors are alos not strong enough to turn my magnetic stirrer in a sphere contraption. Guess its time to try the drill? That should have some torque to it...
Wasn't sure what size hole I would need to mount the D shaped shaft. So printed out a test print with 4 different sizes/shapes around what I thought it would be. And we have a close enough match to make the new mount! #3dprinting

Here's my lit up wagon I hacked together for taking the kids trick or treating. I originally was going with a solid orange for halloween, but the kids liked the scrolling rainbow better! Used an #Arduino powered off a usb battery pack.

And here it is in the dark:

Strangely, I was able to run it off a 2.4a wall wart but when I went to a 2.4a usb battery pack it wouldn't turn on. Found out FastLED has a way to limit how much power it will draw. Setting it to a 1 amp limit fixed that problem with no discernible brightness change, slick!
Wanted to take the kiddos out trick or treating in the wagon so had an idea to stick a string of rgb leds on there for some visibility. Worked pretty well but developed a short part way through. So got to fix that then I can post some pics!
Got some high torque motors to try out on my vortex sphere... Has a different sized shaft so get to make a new lower piece.
Wore a shirt with a floppy disk icon on the front yesterday. Only one of the five people I was working with knew what it was. Yay for getting old.

Woohoo! Esp32-s2 dev board is supposed to come today!

And the stuff for my rear brakes! But thats not that exciting...
Hooked up the motor to the bottom half of the sphere this weekend, but no worky :( looks like the motor isn't strong enough to overcome the friction. So need to get a beefier motor or lower the friction...
Replying to @thepine64
@thepine64 Ox64 running Linux! It was bit painful, as C906 UART pins are on USB-C (TX) and SD-Card (RX). But with handy adaptors, I was able to hook them, and here are results! Thanks to engineers from @BouffaloSystem for helping getting things working.

Got my esp32-s2 ordered up. Curious to try out the host usb. Wonder if anyone else has used it for anything...
