Nearly 8 o’ clock in the evening and as I sit in my garden and watch the beautiful sunset, I feel a few breaths of cool air on my neck. Absolute bliss, as It’s first time all day I’ve not felt like dunking my head in a bucket of cold water as it has been quite humid.

The side gate to our 17th century thatched cottage abounds the Victorian brick wall to land beside the old village chapel. doesn’t see much sun but with the sun directly overhead for a brief while, pleasing patterns cast by the ivy shadows make me see this area in a new light

On a warm afternoon, I may be lying on the lawn with the dogs lolling beside me. My eyes will be firmly fixed skywards to my piece of sky as the clouds perform their daily dances. Tonight, more magic in the sky as the perseid meteor showers reach their peak from midnight -5.30am.

Bucketing down with rain all day and I’ve been worrying about this beautiful hollohock. Aces Rosea Chaters Double Red has been swaying in the breeze but as the rain got heavier, the flowers were almost touching the ground, as if trying to win Ist prize in a limbo dancing contest.

A midweek baking day today. #sourdough white and rye loaves and #shortbread are ready to eat. My 2 year old little helper decides he should be the one to perform a quality control and taste test - his verdict? “Yummy”

Love a slow morning Sunday. Sitting on the end of my bed watching the light flood through from the grandchildren’s bedroom. Time to get up and seize the day, but I’ll just sit a moment more, remembering when my youngest was a baby sleeping here…

There’s nothing quite so lovely as sitting out in the garden until 10 o’clock in the evening in a summer dress and yet feeling warm. Then walking through the green arch into the courtyard with the scent of jasmine still in the air….

Last Year I took poppy seed heads from my Mum’s garden just before she moved house. I scattered seeds in the garden but they’re not growing where they should Serendipity is a wonderful thing -5ft tall, they’ve cast a spell of pink prettiness over the courtyard #prettypink

On a hot day at @BBCGWLive at the NEC, the cool, clean lines of this garden & a water rill have a calming effect. Liz Earle Beauty CO’s Botanical Show Garden designed by @LucyBravington is a sophisticated, scented delight - Lavender, rose, eucalyptus, rosemary, camomile & more

I can it wait to visit #BBCGWLive at the #NEC next week - it’s a firm date in my diary every year. Great show gardens to inspire, expert advice, 1000’s of plants to lust after and buy too. What will catch my eye this year I wonder?

Every tree has its time to shine and the horse chestnuts are certainly putting on a show now. They stand each side of the road so as I stroll out of the village, I walk under a canopy of candelabras…..

Sitting at the end of the garden with a glass of wine and with my face towards the evening sun. The buzzing of the bees in the comfrey plants and the birds are a back drop as I listen to the @FoxedQuarterly podcast about #adrianbell and his writings. Bliss, perfect bliss..

A clear blue sky and warm sunshine on my walk this May morning - I feel as if this month is spoiling me. As I meander down the hill to our nearest village a mile away, there’s time to stop, stare and think how much I love where I live..

A white and green world awaits on these #maymornings As soon as the dogs and I leave the garden gate, #cowparsley is everywhere. Swathes of it grow opposite our cottage, along the hedgerows and in whatever direction we take, with the scent of sweet grass and aniseed all around.

#tuliptuesday oh I do adore this absolutely beautiful tulip called “Honeymoon” from Avon Bulbs. There was an instant attraction as I saw the delicate colour and frou frou frills of lace in the Floral Marquee at #RHSMalvern last week, and had to buy this one and others!
