Police compete in racist game—to see who can arrest more Black people. Encouraged each other to use excessive force. Even to fire their guns in direction of Black residents. Call them N-words in writing to the group chat. Investigation began over illegal use of Flock cameras by one officer to help a friend sell psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. Search warrant for his phone looking for Flock camera data—later uncovered the separate racist text thread among officers. 6 officers have been suspended without pay pending Civil Service Board hearings. Incident involved officers from at least 3 separate divisions of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina.
