I still can't believe this ... but I'm co-hosting TEDxWibsey, a TEDx event in Bradford on 19th September. The whole journey has been a bit of a doozy so far, from looking for the venue, to marketing, to helping interview speakers ... all along with a team I couldn't have done this all without! Wibsey is one of Bradford's oldest communities, and the event is about proving that ideas are worth spreading ™️ in places small towns just as anywhere else. Local ideas and lived experiences define the future we build together. I've been organising tech events in the UK for over 4 years. Running meetups monthly in Manchester and London taught me that the best moments happen between the talks - in the hallway track. Someone connects an idea from stage to something they're already building. Speaking and hosting are also different skills. A speaker delivers one idea well. A host makes every idea in the room lands well and and ensure that a room full of people are not amongst strangers 🫂. As someone who's onboarding to a new team - not my first rodeo - something has become clear to me. Someone who knows a little, knows a lot. Someone who knows a lot, knows very little. I'm trying to be intentional with everything I dive into. Yes, I am T-shaped - everyone is with LLMs. But I only do code-reviews on, tickets on, and contribute to certain parts of the codebase. I only pick up something new one week at-a-time. I don't want to be the one who acts like they know a lot, but in the end can't explain anything.

Okay step 2 in my slopware factory is out now. I'm using @opencode 's local server API to programmatically, create update and delete sessions. How I use this - > Hey Claude, pull my todo tickets from Jira and use the ticket agent to create multiple open code sessions to solve these > Hey Codex, run a Opencode session on the side to solve this issue I still use the official harnesses - but get a nice UI to look at and manage sub-agents without polluting my main session's context!

But, that was exactly what the first Emperor of China Qin Shi Huang would want you to think! It was actually a way to unite all the warring kingdoms and extract resources from them to rule over all. However, it was exactly this united effort and wars against the "Northern Barbarians" or Xiongnu or Hunna to starvation, and hence united them against Qin Shi Huang's empire. They were the underdogs, not the perpetrators! Absolutely insane.
