Poverty creates hardship. It does not dictate how people behave in response to it. Culture does.

Highly ambitious men can endure extraordinary amounts of suffering, but being misunderstood by the woman they love can hurt them more than anything else. I think people underestimate how much significance a man attaches to the opinion of a woman he loves and respects. He can withstand professional failures, and immense uncertainty while pursuing his ambitions, yet a single expression of disappointment from her can leave him questioning himself in ways the rest of the world never could. This vulnerability is humiliatingly beautiful, a man who has cultivated resilience against the world can become so emotionally susceptible to one woman’s perception of him. And I think women need to recognise the gravity of being entrusted with this part of a man’s emotional existence. Her faith in him can become one of his greatest sources of strength, particularly during moments when his own conviction begins to falter.

x correctly identifies this mentality is ridiculous and dangerous. but x is not where most young women are being a sold a vision of their lives. shaming won’t work. out-arguing a worldview that has become an aesthetic probably won’t either. we have to play the game to win it. play with desire, not persuasion. it should be a national priority to build an entertaining, cultural rival by young charismatic women that doesn’t come across as a “lecture” but girl talk. optimizing for the groupchat. call her daddy understands this a culture organized around rebutting another culture is always playing defense where the opposing worldview is the main character (guess who that is rn) and the reality is young women want to feel like the main character and their consumption reflects this
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper & actress Sophia Bush: if a woman is questioning whether she can do better than her current husband, "the answer is always yes." "This idea that it's too late or you're too old, or who are you to want more, that's patriarchy. That is crazy."

Marriage is not a lifelong search for the best available partner. It is a commitment to building a loving relationship with the person you have chosen

Cicero said, “The safety of the people shall be the highest law.” A government reveals how much it values its citizens' lives by the price it makes others pay for threatening them What an extraordinary gift Bukele has given his people; the confidence that their lives are worth defending, wherever in the world they may be
Pou chèf gang yo ak manm gang yo k ap kenbe kat konpatriyòt nou yo an otaj ann Ayiti: Mesye nou kidnape yo pa konbatan. Nou deja fini ak gang yo nan El Salvador, e nou kapab fini ak nou tou. Nou toujou gen tan pou evite sa. Remèt nou kat konpatriyòt nou yo vivan, san okenn mal, epi tout bagay ap retounen jan sa te ye anvan kidnaping lan. Desizyon an nan men nou.

btw, hands down one of the BEST people i’ve ever met, and probably will ever meet in my entire lifetime came from x dot com. They’ve saw the good in me, shone light on my darker sides, and helped me love parts of myself I’d been uncomfortable with for the longest time. I’m a better man because of them this is ur sign to meet ur mutuals.

Pedigree is overrated. Grit isn't. Bloomberg on who he'd hire: "the person whose father never was there, whose mother was in a drug treatment program. And he had to go and work three shifts at McDonald's to take care of his siblings." "No matter how bad things are — looks on the bright side, takes the bull by the horns, puts in the sweat capital. That's where the results are."
