Needed soil sampling system that was accurate, fast and easy in the hard clays we have. This took me 30mins to make and about $80 in materials. The auger bit was $65 of that. Credit to Oklahoma State Uni for the idea (lgpress.clemson.edu/publicatโฆ). Right fert in the right place.

Second year of spreading straw on the salt. Definitely worth it even if itโs ryegrass. Should of done more.

I find remote auto shut-off systems cost $1000s to install or have on newish chaser bins/fields bins This system costs $200 dollars from eBay with a car key remote. Installed on my old magnums to work on any old field bin and chaser as it is based in the tractor #aghack
Itโs not often I get the highest rainfall in the northern wheatbelt, yep thatโs me in the orange zone enjoying the deluge.
Looking back on previous years Canola around the same date and seeing a lot of potential still for 2020. 2016 gave us a very good early break but 2018 gave us the brilliant finish with similar yields of 1.7t/ha and 1.8t/ha, 2017 did better than 2019 with 0.5t/ha vs 0.28t/ha
Gave the rain gauge a wash to increase its holding capacity before the deluge. Weatherzone paints a prettier picture than Metvuw which shows my area being on the light end of the spectrum. Will wait and see, last picture is the clearfield barley charging along, Tarif made it grow
I thought chemical fallow was going to be more exciting. Sprayed for summer weeds back in early April. Last two years have been Clearfield Barley and was supposed to be Cutubury Canola but changed to fallow due to seasonal changes. Heaps of moisture and no weeds on this block.
I think weโll give canola a miss this year. The old shuttle bases make good narrow pallets for the shipping container. #ibcchallenge
