Isn't this because movie tickets are like 37 dollars now? (great movie tho)
Impressive. Most Impressive.
From a galaxy far, far away, everyone at Lucasfilm sends massive congratulations to Destin, Tom, everyone at Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios and the entire team behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day on setting a new domestic box office record and taking the crown from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
FWIW, I think filmmakers and studios should speak directly to the fans with behind-the-scenes production blogs, etc., not exclusives with traditional print media.
Say what you will about The Hobbit movies, but I loved PJ's BTS VLOGs and willingness to invite fan sites like @theoneringnet to the set.
I firmly believe that Greta Gerwig's Narnia movies are going to be great. beliefnet.com/columnists/ido…
In 2012, Star Wars Celebration announced that its next convention would be in Germany. To celebrate, they hired a polka band (which some intern had to find in Orlando, FL) to dramatically enter through the audience and play a polka rendition of the Star Wars theme. On stage. In front of thousands of dumbfounded fans.
This actually happened.
I swear.

Met today with one of the illustrators for my new book, Kearstin Safford. I gave her the task of creating images that feel like they're out of 1940s children's book—and love what she did. GREAT ESCAPE comes out this December and is now up for pre-order. amazon.com/Great-Escape-Refl…

In 2016, Rian Johnson checked Twitter mid-production (b4 the backlash) and said Russian bots were tweeting at him not to kill General Hux...
That's not the weird part.
New piece on how fandom became a tribal warzone and what it says about information warfare in the age of culture war politics.

I have a new book! Great Escape: 30 Reflections on Stoicism, Faith and the Wisdom of Great Stories is a challenge to disenchanted times and suggests that it isn't "self-help" you need, no, just a life filled with better stories. Up for Pre-Order now!
