This is such a lame excuse. We didn't lose because of our defenders. We lost because our forwards and midfielders kept giving the ball away far too easily, leaving us with absolutely no control of the game. We were also terrible in front of goal. PSG left us so much space to exploit, yet we wasted chance after chance and failed to take advantage of it. You can't expect the defence to survive wave after wave of attacks when the players ahead of them can't retain possession, control the tempo or make the right decisions. The system needs to be tweaked. Yes, signing a defender is necessary to add more depth, but that's far from our biggest issue in these big games. Our lack of control, poor decision-making and wastefulness in front of goal are far more concerning.
