Took Karen Bass 3 years to appoint a film czar to keep production jobs in LA and that person is part time.
Hollywood’s center of gravity is increasingly tilting to the East Coast.
While California kept its crown at No. 1 with $1.76 billion in movie and TV production spend, New York is drawing major titles at a much more rapid pace, according to industry tracker ProdPro’s closely-watched quarterly snapshot released on Thursday. The state surged 87 percent in production spend in the quarter to $1.61 billion compared with California’s 17 percent uptick.

Mayor Bass keeps dodging the question: Why is the LAPD collaborating with ICE?

In a city of 3.9 million people, you shouldn’t need the mayor’s cell phone number to get help.
Did the residents of Boyle Heights have your number, Karen?

The Mayor & her team continue to go negative & spread lies against Nithya.
It's giving: "Desperate"
They're saying Nithya wasn't there for immigrants the day that ICE raided LA.
I was actually standing next to Nithya at the rally/press conference against ICE that first day.

LA is HOT. But does it have to be this hot?
Did you know shade from a single tree can drop temps by 20° or more? Yet working-class neighborhoods like South LA, East LA, and the Valley get the least tree coverage and bear the brunt of extreme heat. Let's change that and finally cool things down for everyone.

It’s hot as f#%$ outside.
LA’s park access falls far below cities like NY, Chicago, and San Francisco.
There’s so much we can do to make LA cooler, greener, and more livable. Here’s my plan.

What happened to Jose Carlos Hoyos-Munoz demands justice.
The video is horrifying. It shows LAPD officers striking him while restrained. It shows five officers pinning him face-down on a jail bunk. A spit hood had been placed over his head. Soon after, he was found unconscious and not breathing.
Jose was in the midst of an apparent mental health crisis. He needed treatment. Instead, he died in LAPD custody.
There must be a full, independent investigation, and the people of Los Angeles deserve to know exactly how this was allowed to happen. There must be accountability for the officers involved and for LAPD’s policies and training for how it treats those in its custody.
Accountability cannot stop with one investigation. We need a city where a mental health crisis is met with care before it becomes a police encounter, and where being taken into custody will not become a death sentence.

There aren’t even sidewalks on this stretch of Forest Lawn. Her delay tactics have resulted in someone else being killed. We need a mayor who cares about street safety.
Replying to @SpecNews1SoCal
In response, a Bass campaign spokesperson said in part: "Nithya Raman's plan is opposed by local businesses, faith leaders, and community members. So Mayor Bass is moving forward with a plan that improves sidewalks and bike lane safety without negatively disrupting people..."

Thank you @LauraFriedmanCA! I am incredibly grateful for your help bringing CalTrans to the table in order to resolve these encampments.
Both in Sacramento and now in Congress, you’ve been an indispensable partner in addressing homelessness.
Given Councilmember @nithyavraman’s recent removal from her position as Chair of the Housing Committee, I want to share my own experience working with her on housing & homelessness.

Mayor Bass' top City Council ally removed me as Chair of the Housing and Homelessness Committee.
The Mayor may be trying to punish me for challenging her, but Angelenos are the ones who pay the price for these political games.
