Stripe stablecoin cards now have 0% FX fees
@StripeCrypto sets up local card ranges country by country. Someone in Mexico can hold dollar stablecoins, pay in pesos at home, and the purchase goes through as a local one: no FX markup, no 1% cross-border fee, no spread on top of the Visa rate
- 30+ countries across Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean through one integration, no separate card program per country
- the card spends straight from a stablecoin wallet: Bridge, Privy or any other
- funds leave the wallet onchain at the moment you pay
- physical cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and spending controls come with it
- private preview for now: apps apply through Stripe and hand the cards to their users
- Bridge says it is on track for 100+ countries by the end of 2026
In 2025 Stripe bought @Stablecoin and @privy_io. Now the stablecoin rails, the wallets and the card issuing sit under one roof: an app can launch these cards with Privy prebuilt components or build directly on Stripe
Less than two years from buying Bridge to this. Stablecoins are moving fast
