I totally feel for you, sister! I went through the same thing. What you're doing is so beautiful, and God sees your efforts. I didn't get a strong feeling in the beginning either. I took lessons for months and didn't feel anything, and I also had people telling me that it was a scam, but I just kept going. I would say the biggest thing is that you must make friends in the LDS community. Really try to stay for the second hour and get a ministering sister. If you can get a priesthood blessing, that would be great as well. Honestly, that's what did it for me. When I started getting really involved, I saw that the Holy Spirit was moving through the people of the church. When I started receiving priesthood blessings, I knew for sure the Holy Ghost was with the people of the church. Once you know it's true, everything else is easier. Your dad not agreeing with you, your family cutting you out, and all of that is easier to bear once you believe it. That's the first step: just believe it with all of your heart. Believe that it's true. Once you know that deeply and fundamentally, nothing can shake your faith, no matter what your family says or what anyone says. Best of luck to you, sister!
