We hear about the far right morning, noon and night. So where's the wall-to-wall coverage of the far left? Ann Widdecombe is dead. Prosecutors say the man charged with her murder had an "extreme left-wing mindset" and was plotting against Nigel Farage too. France is on fire. Town halls torched, shops looted, coppers in hospital. And in Australia, an MP has lost her leg after an eco extremist allegedly rammed her. Twice.

What a mad crank she is.
It is certainly puzzling that not a single Israeli rape victim has given their own testimony on this. If they were all shot dead this would explain it of course but there would be forensic post mortem evidence. If victims were then taken hostage obv they could not speak.

melaniephillips.substack.com… This is what’s been termed “the omnicause”. And it’s being synchronised across western Europe. In other words, we’re witnessing a much broader and deeper challenge than merely a crisis for France. It’s a war on the west being waged by groups with disparate agendas taking advantage of a civilisation in deep trouble. Those involved are leftists, anarchists, Islamists, assorted grievance-artists and useful idiots imagining they’re marching for the “oppressed” of the earth — and with malevolent outside actors stirring the pot.

This has always been the play. Create conditions for social unrest and violence, then blame your opponents for pointing out social unrest and violence might happen as somehow encouraging it. Campaign on the back of it. Britain is cursed with such deeply unserious politicians.
Reform absolutely obsessed with the riots in France! Why? Because they want it here, they hate our country with a passion. Reject.

Twice as many Christians have been murdered by Islamists in Africa in the past year than Palestinians in Gaza during the past three years of war. Yet, the media has entirely ignored the ongoing slaughter of Christians in Africa.

Sarah Helm has been pushing images of Burayr, which was once a small Arab village northeast of Gaza City. She posted them to promote the Nakba myth: that a poor Arab village was massacred and depopulated by violent, nasty Jews who just wanted to ethnically cleanse the Arabs. As usual with fictions such as this, she begins at the point when the Jews responded to Arab violence. Burayr’s history did not begin with its capture. @SarahHelm1 did not bother to tell anyone that it was the Arabs who started the war. She also neglected to describe how the village of Burayr was armed and hostile; how villagers attacked vehicles trying to take supplies to Jewish villages; how they blockaded roads and fired shots at Jews who tried to pass; and how, when a nearby kibbutz was established, Burayr villagers tried to kill its residents. Nor does she mention that the village lay on the Egyptian army’s invasion route, and that the Jews had to take control of the area and deal with hostile villages along the route, or they would have been massacred. This explains why the village was captured - and all of this is ignored. This is the true story of Israel's war of independence - a war of survival against Arabs who wanted to wipe them out. The end point - when the Arabs paid the price for losing a war they started - is all that she cares about. She is trying to invert history and make the aggressors - the Arabs - look like innocent victims. Hope this helps clear that up.

Putting aside that his wife is an utterly deranged fanatic, Jonathan Powell himself has fingerprints all over countless disastrous policies. As Blair’s Chief of Staff he intervened to remove wording in the notorious Iraq dossier that questioned the likelihood of Saddam Hussein using chemical and biological weapons offensively, all to strengthen the case for war. He also sent letters assuring IRA suspects they weren’t wanted by police, while British soldiers received no such reassurances — helping create today’s grotesque two-tier system. And under Starmer he organised the totally discredited Chagos deal which hands British territory to Mauritius and commits British taxpayers to paying billions to retain use of a strategically vital military base Britain already controls. His wife has done us all a favour in (hopefully) hastening his exit.
Sarah Helm, wife of the UK national security adviser Jonathan Powell, has far worse social media than was reported at the weekend. She's compared Israel to the Nazis; defended Hamas; and questioned reports of their mass rape. Me for the Spectator. spectator.com/article/reveal…

It seems...sub-optimal that the wife of the UK's National Security Advisor should just be openly and continuously sharing this sort of stuff.
Jonathan Powell's wife shared a post this weekend that is dismissive of @andyburnham's government - referring to it as 'the zionist labour government' and accusing them of 'colluding with Israeli war criminal intelligence services'

The pro-Palestine movement in Australia directly inspired the jihadist attack at Bondi Beach (15 dead) and it’s now inspired a direct assassination attempt on an Australian MP who may need both legs amputated. Easily the most destructive movement in modern Australian political history.

Cannot aggre more with @MForstater. Although I disagreed strongly with several panelists - esp the one who blames the Race Relations Act for the crisis in free speech.... Listening to @AkikoMHart from @libertyhq defend GC beliefs and place current conflicts in a human rights and civil rights framework made me feel v v happy.
Very excited to see @AkikoMHart @libertyhq on a panel with @akuareindorf at @acadofideas #BattleFest. The times they are a changing!

I went to this session with a fairly bog standard left wing 'stay and make a noise' argument. I'm still not convinced that's entirely wrong. But I was struck by the number of women ex-trade unionists who spoke about the depths of betrayal, disrespect, and even contempt that they've faced. I think many union leaders are isolated from their members by a kind of crisis of internal democracy - they live in a bubble and they don't have any real conception of the antipathy that is felt towards them both by women members and this who have left. This is really serious. And really bad for the labour movement. So, reflecting.
A discussion about the failure of unions in the face of GC harassment. @DarlingtonUnion's Bethany's talk amazing. She ended with unions have abandoned us to let's rebuild. @RosieDuffield1 smash the unions? Yes. @runthinkwrite distinguish between leadership and role of trade unionists "I don't need an additional HR department that I pay subs to for them to police my views" @JimButcher2 had to leave the union for moral grounds because of their support for harming children. Set up a branch of Academics for Academic Freedom.

Why is an Islamic State terrorist living in Windsor? In a sane country, Mohammed Yaseen’s presence in the UK would be a frontpage scandal. We are becoming dangerously numb to the horrors of our broken borders, says Hugo Timms buff.ly/n8ogcPn

I'm torn on this issue. If the BBC vanished tomorrow, I would be hard pressed to notice, and I don't think I would miss it. But there is still a strong case for a national broadcaster to showcase British talent and export our cultural produce. The essential problem with the BBC is that it is increasingly not run by British people, and it is not run for them. You're more likely to encounter Arabs, Africans and Asians in the BBC newsroom than a working class Englishman. It sees itself as an internationalist enterprise, and it has no loyalty to Britain at all. Worse still, the people who run it don't even like Britain. There was time, not so very long ago, when the BBC would celebrate Britain. You may remember the Greatest Britons series, or BBC Coast at its peak - running concurrently with peak BBC comedy that was capable of self-mockery. I think tall that died circa 2008, and by 2016, it actively loathed the average British citizen, especially if they voted for Brexit. The death of Clarkson era Top Gear was probably when most normal people's relationship with the BBC ended. The bottom line is that you can't have a national broadcaster that doesn't like the British people. You can't expect it to produce anything that the British people would want to watch, much less anyone else. You can't expect it to promote and celebrate British cultural produce when it doesn't even want to be associated with the people who produce it, and is ashamed of our history. Such an enterprise can only ever become a universally loathed parasite. Then as much as we know who the BBC doesn't like, we can also see who it does like. It firehoses our money at absolute scum, while being on the wrong side of every major political divide. It would rather do shows about drag queens than British history. As such, I am largely ambivalent as to whether it survives or not. It is entitled to keep being what it is just so long as I don't have to part with my money to maintain it. It should have to compete on the same basis as everyone else.
Unlike many on the right, I don't incline to #DefundtheBBC. I value it, and support the individual freedom to boycott and not pay the licence fee if you wish. But to learn that the Government is considering a tax on all streaming services—a mandatory tax to finance the BBC—is fundamentally illiberal. You should not be forced to fund it just because you watch Netflix, Disney or YouTube.

Brilliant essay on what is happening in France and why; “Whatever one’s views of the politics of the Middle East, one thing is unquestionable. The flag of Palestine and the keffiyeh have become the default symbols not only of opposition to Israel, but hatred of Western culture and heritage – which is seen as irredeemably arrogant, colonialist and bigoted. This fundamental despising of Western culture by a wide international cohort of young adults, and a cultural mood that sees its destruction as a virtuous cause, unquestionably fed into the protests.” “More sinisterly, the next day French police released evidence that some rioters had on their person lists of addresses of Jewish-owned stores. In one Marseille street, Jewish-run businesses were set alight, while others weren’t. There is evidence that Islamists with an agenda of ‘globalising the Intifada’ latched onto the riots as a way of targeting Jews.”

Hi Rosie, I follow your work and ideas. I'm a writer and church minister currently working in France. Here's my eyewitness account of being caught up in the riots, and a deep search for the roots of the violence. There are themes that should resonate. flaneurnotes.com/post/the-fr…

If treating people equally in a professional context, without regards to their colour, is deemed 'unethical' (as it was by leaders at the Tavistock), it is they who are in a minority and whose moral thinking is awry. If they then harass an employee for failing to profess to critical race theory beliefs, they are discriminating and compelling someone to say they believe something when they don't. Rather like the Spanish Inquisition. Do support @StandUptoWoke if you can - find out more: gofundme.com/f/standuptowoke

"In the six months from the 15th April 2026 the BBC website featured 25 stories about the war in Sudan, and 10 about the war in the DRC. In the same period, it featured 252 stories on Israel. Across its flagship news channels, the BBC News Television channel and BBC radio 4, we found 73 stories about the conflict in Sudan and just 6 about the conflict in the DRC. On Israel on the other hand, an AI search tool identified a staggering 12,196 clips mentioning Israel in that same six-month period." @leahbenoz camera-uk.org/2026/10/16/why…
