He’s being facetious. But when you strip down all the arguments against expanded playoffs it boils down to “how dare a team that lost a game be allowed to compete for a championship”
So let’s just make the whole season single elimination?
This can’t be true. I’ve been very smugly informed for a decade that Alabama fans are the only college football fans with class.

Hey @Walmart . Thanks for deciding I don’t actually need the groceries I ordered. At 9pm when it’s too late for me to make any other arrangements for the groceries I needed.
Are there no High School athletes looking for college football teams anymore?
47-year-old pastor Justin Buzzard is joining the San Jose City College Jaguars as a defensive end 🔥
Buzzard's last game was 30 years ago but says his body has been "holding up a lot better than he thought" 💯

“Too many goals come from penalties”
You’re outing yourself as not watching the game with this comment. 307 goals were scored 254 of them from “open play”. Including the goal that won the Cup for Spain.
I know countless millions of people love soccer, and it can be a thrilling game, as we witnessed repeatedly during the World Cup, but it suffers from a fundamental structural flaw.
Because offense is in such short supply at this level, scoring is highly dependent on penalties.
This means that scoring often comes outside the normal flow of play, and incentives flopping and pretend injuries that are unworthy of grown men—you think someone rolling around the turf in agonizing pain is going to have to be transported immediately to the hospital, then you look up and he’s played another 45 minutes, no problem.
Then, there’s the courting of artificial penalties—a player steps in front of another, gets bumped, and proceeds to pretend he got shot.
Whatever the other merits of soccer, this stuff is a blight on the game and brings an element of low comedy to even the highest-stakes competition.
The last month and a half has been an interesting demonstration that many people don’t understand a distinction between “confusing” and “different”

Andres Cantor is the Gary Johnson of soccer. I said what I said.

🦭UPDATE: Neil the Seal has reportedly returned to the ocean after another memorable visit in Tasmania. 🌊
The beloved southern elephant seal may be a global social media star, but he’s still a wild animal. Please keep your distance & respect wildlife! 💙

Soccer people acting like no referee decision has ever been wrong controversial vs. non-soccer people acting like no other sport ever has controversial referee decisions. No wonder Freddy left this hell-site.
