The Commercial Court in Accra ordered CAF to pay damages equal to $250,000 plus GH¢40,000 in legal costs. Winning in court is one thing. Getting paid is another. #JusticeForSpiky

In 2018, my music was used to promote the CAF Awards without my knowledge or consent. I asked for fair compensation for my work, but all I got was silence. How can we celebrate African excellence while overlooking African creatives? 🇬🇭#JusticeForSpiky

How can CAF refuse to pay the $250,000 ordered by the court? Are they above the law? They must respect the ruling and pay him what is due.

If the court has ordered CAF to pay him $250,000, why haven't they paid? No one is above the law — they should respect the ruling and do the right thing.

This is really becoming a nuisance!!!
You'll be minding your business, and suddenly you're receiving messages from services you have absolutely no recollection of subscribing to. Some even inform you that you've successfully subscribed to services that attract DAILY charges!
Then there's the endless barrage of unsolicited advertisements, gambling promotions, and suspicious job offers.
Who authorised these subscriptions? How did these companies obtain our numbers? And more importantly, are we being charged for services we never knowingly consented to?
Dear @DPC_Ghana and @NCAGhana, I believe this warrants a serious investigation.
Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), already provides protections against the unauthorised use of personal data for direct marketing. So why does this continue?
We need an investigation into the MNOs, third-party service providers, aggregators, and everyone involved in the subscription and billing ecosystem.
Where violations are established, the responsible parties must be held accountable, with appropriate sanctions and refunds for affected consumers.
I also believe we should explore collective legal action against those found responsible. If consumers have been unknowingly enrolled in paid services and charged without valid consent, we should seriously consider representative litigation to seek compensation and accountability.
Because someone is making money from our personal information and subscriptions we never "knowingly" authorised.
And how long are we going to tolerate it?
There should be a portal where you can request your complete value-added-services subscription history, activation and consent records, and itemised deductions.
