ALT The election and preceding campaign rhetoric have spurred deep emotion and reactions around the country. Many in our local community – students, families, neighbors, staff, and partners – are feeling vulnerable and concerned about their futures. The Possible Zone remains committed to being a safe and welcoming space for all. We are steadfast in our mission to help young people achieve economic mobility, to experience economic success, to have power and autonomy, and to be valued in their communities. Our dedicated team, committed supporters and partners, and passionate students and families infuse our culture with valuable diverse perspectives that inform all that we do and how we do it. We will continue to offer opportunities and dynamic learning experiences, to carve meaningful and sustainable pathways, and to strengthen valuable networks for our deserving students. We will continue to work to create a world where young people can shape the futures they desire.

ALT Growth mindset is one of the interconnected skills, mindsets, and assets students develop at The Possible Zone that contributes to Entrepreneurial Spirit. Growth mindset is also a construct that greatly overlaps with the concepts of power and autonomy–an indicator of upward mobility. In our recent TPZ Insights blog, Jeremy Taylor, Chief Research & Evaluation Officer, imparts the value of growth mindset for EVERYONE. https://possiblezone.org/news/growth-mindset-is-crucial/ #growthmindset #youthdevelopment #mistakeshappen #learnfrommistakes

POST: TPZ's Jeff Branson, Senior Director for STEAM Education and Partnerships, and Sabrina Tirachen, Educator/Advisor II, are working on building a program to give TPZ students a hands-on exploration into computational thinking. The two shared insights in a recent Q&A and are hosting a Pizza & Coding Workshop today--in recognition of CS Education Week--during which TPZ students will be guided through a two-hour code journey using the Processing language and the Microbit microcontoller.
