Take the phones at night. Tired kids trust more and decide worse. Rebecca Saunders (Set Me Free Project): charge them overnight where you can see them.

Give your kids a safe word. A teen at the park kept aiming a FaceTime call at Rebecca Saunders' 5-year-old, trying to get her to talk to whoever was on the other end. One word. They left. If your kid blabs it, change it.

Roblox is the one platform to stay off completely. Rebecca Saunders (Set Me Free Project): other apps have risk — Roblox is her hard no. Notorious for grooming. Know where your kids are online. Defend the kids. Run the house.

iPhone? Bright Canary. Android? Bark. Pick the parental monitoring tool that fits their phone — AI alerts when something looks off. Defend the kids. Run the house.

You must know their username and password. Plus a monitoring app that looks for problems and alerts you. Access isn't optional when you're running the house. Defend the kids. Run the house.

Posting your kids online now sets them up for deepfakes. With AI, those cute photos become raw material. Predators don't need access — they need a face. Defend the kids. Run the house.

Filter the house — not just the phone. OS parental controls help. Put DNS filtering on the network too (CleanBrowsing works on everything). Defend the kids. Run the house.

They deleted the chat. That doesn't mean it's gone. Empty message history isn't proof the phone is clean. Proper monitoring can still see deleted iMessages. Defend the kids. Run the house.

Snapchat's disappearing messages create a false sense of no consequences. Kids (and adults) think: send it, it vanishes, you're fine. Screenshots don't vanish. Predators know that. Defend the kids. Run the house.

It could be anyone. "Predator" puts a mental image in your head. The real threat is often someone who doesn't fit it: your mom's friend, a cousin, a neighbor. Watch and share:

Don't let your teen keep a chatbot on their phone. AI mirrors anxiety and keeps saying yes. ~57% of teens already use chatbots for "important conversations." Delete the app. Talk after dinner — eye to eye.

Pick a family safe word — then use it. At the park a teen kept FaceTiming and pointing the camera at her 5-year-old, trying to get the child to talk to the person on the other end. She said the safe word. Got out. Same rule online. Switch the word if a chatty kid blabs it.
