Wow this is super impressive, didn't expect loopholes on scale invariance implying conformal invariance to be closed in this release
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model.
We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results.

Congratulations to Francis Halzen on winning the 2026 @NobelPrize in physics for his major contributions to the U.S. National Science Foundation IceCube Neutrino Observatory and its discoveries of elusive neutrino particles that come to Earth from distant places in the universe.
For more than two decades, NSF has invested in the design, construction, and ongoing operations of NSF IceCube, enabling a deeper understanding of astrophysical neutrinos and their origins.
AI might be doing better at math and physics lately, but until it can master… archery tag we’re still safe

Rumor is that anthropic is close to finishing the Winds of Winter. They plan to announce it at their IPO. They really hope someone else doesn't try and scoop them and release it first......

Our new results are out! We have observed a single nuclear recoil in our detector that we find difficult to explain with our background model. Could it be a hint of dark matter? It’s far too early to say, but it’s certainly intriguing! #darkmatter

Day 5: On the final day of the workshop, Patrick Meade (@theory_dad) discussed the approaches to probe higher energies and the challenges that we face in building bigger accelerators. There were lots of pop quizzes in the talk that I really enjoyed. The second pic is from the Q and A session.
End of a fun week.

Hopefully this addresses some of the issues brought up during the public comment period @APSphysics
Happy to be visiting @JLab_News to talk about how a muon collider can bridge High Energy and Nuclear Physics

MIT is doing less research and enrolling fewer graduate students as a result of federal actions, the university president warned. Federally funded research on campus is down more than 20 percent compared to this time last year, she said. wapo.st/4uTeALJ

Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
